  1. Congratulations! That's an awesome feeling!
  2. Paola, That's a wonderful NSV! Congrats to you!!
  3. Stacey, You're doing SO well! Congrats on reaching Onederland! My weight fluctuates a pound or two, but has a steady downward trend, and that's what matters most! I'm working on getting to Onderland myself, but my short term goal is to reach 250. I can't wait until I hit Onederland either. I'm happy dancing for you this morning!
  4. Rosy, I'm sorry that you're having such a difficult time. I'm also appalled that you call this the "NO" diet because you think everything is forbidden. NOTHING is forbidden, in my opinion. I still eat many of the same foods I ate pre-surgery, but I concentrate on eating Protein first and drinking enough Water daily. Somehow I missed that you were having difficulties until today. From your post above, it seems like you are making a great effort, but not getting the results you expected. Is that true? I have no idea of your starting weight or how much you have lost, but I do know that I have seen dramatic results in my health and my stamina from my workout/weight loss efforts...and I will be the first to tell you that, if you are truly working out for an hour a day, you are working out much harder than me!! I started at 352 and couldn't walk from my car to my front door without being out of breath. Now, at 265, I can walk over 3 miles (slowly) on the treadmill. I sweat, etc, but I can do it. I just had another sleep study, expecting to get rid of my CPAP machine, but my sleep apnea hasn't improved enough to remove that yet. I can choose to be upset or I can choose to accept it and be patient with myself and my body. Since I don't like stress, I've chosen the patient route. Favoredone said something yesterday that really hit home for me. She posted that she was learning to "submit to (the) journey". I think that says it all. This is a journey and we can either relax, follow the rules, and enjoy the ride, or we can stress about it all and make ourselves crazy while on the same trip. I am choosing to relax. I'm not attempting to minimize your experience, but, aside from having a surgeon with no bedside manner apparently, you seem to be losing well and you are able to work out, which is phenomenal. Those are wonderful things! For some reason, though, I'm thinking you had a leak or a complication? If so, then I understand why you're having a tough time right now. I hope things get better for you soon! ((Hugs))
  5. I wasn't tired or nauseated at 3 weeks post op, but we've already established that I've had freakish energy boost since surgery!! You'll be fine as long as you do some pre-planning and take along protein shakes/powder, IMO.
  6. I would hope so! It is done that way on houses and cars.
  7. Congrats! I'm amazed at how early you were posting!!
  8. (((Pookey))) I don't think I understand, but here's a hug to hopefully help you deal with it all.
  9. Rediscover, I looked up the Protein pills. They are ONE gram of protein per pill. I think I'll eat a mini babybel instead. Kim89, try drinking warm instead of cold drinks. I loved chicken and beef broth on Clear liquids.
  10. I was gonna ask how well they keep. Since it's just me here, I'll be eating these for a few days. Can they be frozen do you think?
  11. Welcome to the loser's bench!! It gets better VERY fast from here!!
  12. Welcome and good luck! Before you know it, you'll be posting goal pictures of yourself!!
  13. I'se WONDERFUL!! LOL
  14. Yay! What a lovely post about the WLS team!!
  15. Sorry. I had to look a different way to find your post! I didn't use any pain meds after the first night. My legs hurt worse than my tummy because I was using my legs instead of stomach muscles to get up and down. Good luck on your revision!!
  16. Congrats on starting out on the sleeve journey!! Here's praying that it goes quickly for you!!
  17. Sounds delicious! I'll be making some later this weekend!
  18. Congrats on starting the next phase of your life! Good luck with your surgery!!
  19. I didn't lose an ounce in February, but I lost THREE pants sizes. I did drop 3 pounds a couple of days ago, and I'm excited, but I've been literally watching my body change shape in the last couple of months. From round to more of an hourglass. Keep the faith, follow the plan, and enjoy the journey!!
  20. Welcome and good luck with your surgery!! Everyone here is a wealth of information. Hang around, have a protein shake and keep us updated on your progress please!
  21. I don't have a lot to confess this week, thankfully! I bought a box of those tiny peppermint patties and I'm allowing myself 4 per day (40 calories). That seems to have cured my sweet tooth for now.
  22. You are truly rocking your sleeve! I'm so impressed with your progress!! Congrats!!
  23. You do look amazing, and you are STILL rocking that million dollar smile! I love your comment about submitting to the journey! That's what we all struggle so hard to be able to do. I think sometimes we just need to sit back and let it happen!
  24. I have a whole shelf of Protein powders and, truthfully, every one of them disgusted me right after surgery. Suddenly I couldnt stand sweet stuff! My saving grace was broth, chicken and beef, low sodium versions. Decaf coffee and tea have become my go-to drinks, and I just discovered that putting a scoop of Protein powder in my decaf coffee is a good way to sneak in a little extra protein each day! I'm loving that because it allows me to have more veggies and fruits in my diet. Don't stock up on lots. Get 1 or 2 flavors of protein powder for early post-op. You can experiment with flavors later. Good luck!!
  25. Honestly, I'd try drinking more Water or a cup of coffee first. I'm all for the most natural solution, although I'm not sure how "natural" coffee actually is! If the water/coffee doesn't help, then try adding some kind of fiber solution (benefiber or metamucil) before taking a stool softener. The stool softeners pull water from other places and hydration is a huge issue for sleevers, especially at only 7 weeks post-op! Good luck!
