  1. Congrats! We go to the same doctor in Austin and were banded in the same month. I am glad you are doing so well. I am going alot slower - 23lbs only and that was from pre op and post op. I will admit I am definatley struggling with head hunger. Have a great trip!
  2. I am sorry you arent feeling well and you do need to figure out whats wrong. We were banded on the same day and we have lost the same amount of weight. Very frustrating! My weight loss was before surgery when they put me on the preop diet and right after surgery. I am just glad there is someone out there who is losing as slow as I am! Hope you get feeling better and figure out what is going on!
  3. I am not fat because of soda BUT I do love my beer. I was banded on 8/23/11 and had my first Shiner Bock on Sunday 10/16/11. WOW - wont do that again! I drank 1/4th of the beer and that was it. It didnt sit right in my stomach - blew me up! That's ok though - so many calories - decided it just wasnt worth it. (I will admit I did shed a tear!) LOL! Then I see kellyodoran post and no maybe in the future I will be able to handle it.
  4. That's what I'm taking about!! Love it! I have a new reward now!!
  5. Yes! My BMI was also 36. I was banded 8/23/11 - I have already had my 2nd fill - my 3rd is on 10/25. I really hope that one helps with restriction my total right now is 5.5cc in a 10cc band. I agree with the "Blah" statement... Looks like you and I are in the same boat. I am also hungry and am also hungry most of the time. I really dont know what is wrong with me - before being banded I was at the gym 5 days a week and I am struggling to make it even 1 day a week right now. I really need to snap out of the funk I am in - I knew this was a "tool" but man...
  6. I am going thru the same thing. I was banded 8/23/11 and have had 2 fills. I am unable to drink anything fuzzy. Im surprised the soft drinks arent bothering you. Everytime I have been to the office for a fill they ask me about burping... I will have to ask what is going on when I go the 25th
  7. I have a 10cc band and my total fill right now is 5.5cc. I am definatley not in my "green zone". Still hungry and I can still eat too much. I cant wait tell I have the correct fill - I do go back on the 25th for my 3rd fill. Hopefully 3rd time will be the one!
  8. I am so glad you posted this because reading some of the postings of newly banded people losing so much weight was freaking me out! Thank goodness I was told not to get discouraged the first 2 months. Although reading some of these posts was discouraging because I noticed know difference at all until yesterday! 4 days after my 2nd fill. I was banded 8/23 - had my 2nd fill on 10/6. NOW I feel restriction - FINALLY!! Dont give up your not alone. All of my weight loss was diet pre op and right after surgery. I even gained 5 pounds back.
  9. I am a 1/2 - 1 pack a day smoker. I would love to quit! I had surgery on 8/23/11 with no problems at all. Because i am a smoker they did a lung functioning test on me about 2 weeks before surgery. The girl told me she never would have guessed I was a smoker. I go to the gym on average 5 days a week which I know helps my breathing/lungs. I will admit I had a cigarette the day I got home. Since I am 2 weeks post op I havent hit the gym like I was - once I do I am going to really try and quit but right now I felt like I could only di 1 think at a time. I am concentrating on my food intake and healing from surgery. Next I will tackle the smoking issue. Quiting is so hard I really wish you luck!!
  10. Surgery for me was 8/23/11 and I have been having the same problems. Rumbly, Gassy, Bloated!! Ugh!! It started yesterday when I added cream of tomato Soup and an EAS shake to my liquid diet. I am not sure if its a milk/milk product problem or just normal. I thought when they talked about gas after surgury they meant right after - not 1 week after! I am calling doctor tomorrow because this is painful! Let me know how you are doing and good luck!
  11. I started full liquids on day 7. Today is day 8 post op for me. Yesterday I had cream of tomato soup and an EAS shake. It tasted so good! However, not long after having the shake my stomach was rumbly, bloated and gassy. I was miserable! I think for me it is a milk/milk product intolerance. Today I had a Lactose free shake and back to clear liquids. I am feeling much better. Not everyone is the same but I wanted to post my experience with going to the full liquids. Will try a V8 tonight and soy milk. Good Luck Jess527!!
  12. Hey Jess, my surgery was on 8/23/11 - I went into work on 8/26/11. It was actually good to get out of the house. I also took the same pain medicine as you. I will say I only lasted 4 hours, I got tired pretty quick. Today is 1 week post op and its the best I have felt. OK other than the gas pains! What is everyone doing about this?? I started creamy soups today and think its the milk products that are getting me. I also had an EAS shake for breakfast. Whats the deal? I am off clear liquids today and have different things to drink and my stomach is hating it!
  13. Congrats to all of us that were banded last week! I was banded on 8/23/11 and I am down 14 pounds. Started the creamy liquids today and I am really having tummy issues. I think its the milk products that are the problem. The creamy mushroom Soup was so good too!
