stretched pouch

Recommended Posts

How do you know if your pouch has been stretched out, I have falling back into my old habits of drinking soft drinks, eating to fast, and eating the wrong kinds of food, I did really well in the beginning after my surgery but this month I have done horrible, I am afraid that I have messed up my band, haven't had any vomiting, just discomfort with burping all the time, has anybody else gone thru this?

I am going thru the same thing. I was banded 8/23/11 and have had 2 fills. I am unable to drink anything fuzzy. Im surprised the soft drinks arent bothering you. Everytime I have been to the office for a fill they ask me about burping... I will have to ask what is going on when I go the 25th

My doc told me it takes alot to stretch the pouch back out . He said I would have to basically go back to the way I was eating before I got the band .

I dont have no fills in me but there is no way I could eat like I did before,I would get sick before I could eat that much.

One of the people in my support group didnt follow the rules for a good two yrs or so and I mean she would eat anything and everything and not very small portions either and she never stretched hers out .

Doc said it takes alot of food over time to even stretch it .

This is going to sound funny, but there was a test developed

by a Dr. Flanagan? called the "Cottage cheese test" that

used cottage cheese and Water to check the capacity

of a Lap bander's pouch. You'll have to look it up on Google.

it would give you an idea of whether your pouch had stretched.

I don't think it's likely, but you never know.

If you really want to get back on track, look up the 5 day pouch

test. A lot of people who strayed, used it to restart their weight loss.

I hope you get back where you want to be.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
