Hi everyone! I need to schedule a revision surgery from the Lap Band to Gastric Sleeve. Unfortunately, surgery wont be covered by insurance so i need to find a surgeon in south florida (miami/ ft lauderdale). Has anyone had the sleeve done is south florida? Who would you recommend and how much did you pay out of pocket? So far i heard about DR. MICHAEL CHOI with Strax Rejuvenation...Anyone have surgery done by him? What are his prices like? BTW- I live out of town but will be doing surgery in s. florida because my family is down there to help me with recovery.

I just found out yesterday that my port completely flipped over and i will need to have surgery to fix it. My dr wants to to move the location of my port as well. Right now it is on the right side, about an inch above my belly button. I know this location is common. This dr, who did not do my lap band surgery, wants to relocate it to the middle, right below my sternum or below the center of my rib cage. He says its the best location to ensure no flipping. I never heard of a port in this spot and im worried that it will be more noticiable. Does anyone have their port in this location or know of anyone who does?? Please help! Im so nervous!

I'm getting banded July 13th..it's actually Friday the 13th and I don't know what to think of that. Trying to be positive and not think too much about it. My dr didn't require me to go on a diet but I'm nervous that I won't know what to do once I'm banded...even though I've been over everything a million times. I just don't want to fail

Hi everyone. Im new and considering the Lap Band. My mother had it done about a year ago and has been extremely happy besides the occasional "food stuck" situation. I want to make sure this is the right decision. Im nervous especially never have been put to sleep ( which is my biggest fear ) or go under the knife. I know my bmi is kinda low, i think, being 34 but ive never been happy with my weight and it has cause major depression. Im trying to find a doctor in Chicago, iL. But im having trouble finding one. How did you guys find your match??
