  1. You look amazing! Congrats
  2. I only had pain the first week (it hurt getting up and down mainly) after that it was mainly just lack of energy.
  3. I had my surgery during my week long spring break, I took 2 weeks off work though. I dont regret having it but it did definitely affect my ability to concentrate in school. I can tell my work ethic went way down, in the beginning I was just way tired all the time now its getting a little better to where I have more energy to walk around campus and up and down the stairs comfortably. Good luck!
  4. Congrats thats amazing! I cant wait to be on that side of the fence with you.
  5. Lol yeah I will probably be set for a while but I like having variety, I hate the thought of forcing myself to eat the same things everyday I would go insane.
  6. I just did my mushy/soft food shopping last night, here are some things I purchased Soy milk Almond Milk yogurt tons of cheese to melt on things and also the laughing cows to eat, and mozarella sticks refried Beans clam chowder creamy low fat Soups corned beef hash salmon fillets crab meat canned tuna/chicken sauce/broth mixes sugar free popsicles Protein powder fat free cream cheese/ricotta cheese/ cottage cheese all natural Peanut Butter ready to heat chicken patties sugar free pudding egg white beaters low calorie gatorades This is def a lot of stuff, granted I only got like 1 of each, it will probably last me at least 2 weeks if not more.
  7. I was a coffee addict before surgery but since I've had my sleeve I don't crave it anymore at all, I have trouble getting the water I need in so I dont even have room for it.
  8. i just started with the weights and toning and I've noticed my muscles are extremely sore, Im still feeling my leg workout from last week. I take in about 80-90 g of protein a day so I doubt its from protein deficiency.
  9. I'm 24 and so far I've lost 60 lbs. about 25 since my surgery 3-1. I've been doing toning and moisturizing my skin with Shea vitamin e and all that but already I can tell like under my arms my skin is a little saggy. It will probably get a little worse with time but I intend to tone the heck out of my body and try and gain lean muscle to make up for it.
  10. I'm one month and I'm constantly freezing! Especially my toes even with sneakers and socks.
  11. If you want to still have the thickness and "milkshake" taste that milk offers but you dont want the calories, sugar, or carbs. Try unsweetened light soy milk, or even almond milk. They are great in shakes.
  12. Thanks I will keep this in mind, I need to start listening to my bodies cues
  13. I just had this same thing happen to me today and basically the trainer made me feel like crap, saying things like your 24 and you cant even do such and such but w/e. Im a broke college student and I cant afford those rates anyway so jokes on him lol. Where are plans that you can get for free?
  14. Thanx so much for clarifying. Im also going to check out your blog =p
  15. Im almost a month post op now, Im still in the full liquid/pureed phase. I was wondering if the no water 30 min before or after a meal still applies since technically everything is like liquid anyway. Thanks for replies.
  16. I had a stall the second week as well and I came out of it like 3 weeks later, our bodies are probably just trying to get used to the new changes
  17. I thought it was gross too but honestly its not as bad as it seems. I puree soups with canned tuna or chicken. Or even meatball with marinara tastes like meat sauce.
  18. So im 3 weeks post op and just wondering. Does anyone else feel tied to food? For example In the sense of I dont want to study in the library cuz I have to eat every 2 hours and I don't feel like bringing all this food. Or id rather stay home cuz its just easier to eat a spoon of Peanut Butter here then in front of people. Maybe I'm just self conscious but this is getting kind of weird for me. I don't mind bringing the shakes and making those which at school kind of is a hassle but how do you guys do it if u have a long day? For example I work 11 hr shifts, my school days are 9+ hours, and I also volunteer. How do I take all this stuff around.
  19. I'm only 3 weeks post op and I'm doing 80-90 g of protein per day but I'm already noticing more hair loss than normal. I have really big curly hair and when I wash it now I get two big handfuls of hair. So depressing I just wear it up in a bun for now. Hopefully it will grow back soon with tlc.
  20. Last night I did half a can I broccoli soup half can water and a whole can of chunk light tuna. Threw it in a blender and heated it. It was the perfect consistency and it was delish. I had it for 2 meals. I was thinking about salmon as well but I know sometimes theirs little bones in the can so I was leery.
  21. I did clear liquids only 3 days but it was a lot of diff broths. My dad would make a stew and I would have the broth from it. Chicken and veggies in the crock pot then skim the fat off. Same for cabbage and corned beef soup. Also au ju sauce is really delicious. Try diff varieties of crystal light or diet snapple, watered down apple juice. Hope that helps.
  22. Did u talk to ur doc? I was cleared for cardio after my first week they told me to take it easy tho. But after week 6 all restrictions are off for me. That's just my doc tho.
