  1. Update on the protein thin mint fudge I made tonight! SO yummy! It's dry, but the taste is awesome! It tastes like a cookie, but its healthy!
  2. I actually wondered the same thing and may try it to lower cals and fat next time (if this is any good. Lol).
  3. I had a Morningstar chicken griller with 4 bites of my finances mashed potatoes. After dinner I made The Fitnessistas Thin Mint Protein Fudge! 2 scoops chocolate protein powder 1 scoop flour 2 TBS nut butter (I used pb!) 2 TBS sugar free maple syrup 1 TBS coconut or oil of choice 1 Tsp vanilla extract 1 Tsp mint extract Mic together and place in square container. Topping: 2 TBS chocolate chips 1 TBS milk of choice Microwave and spread evenly on fudge. Place fudge in fridge to harden. Makes 6 squares. Calories 131 Fat 7 Carbs 12 Sugar 7 Protein 7 Haven't tasted it yet, but I can't wait!
  4. I had tried nuvaring forever ago and seemed to have a tough time getting it in. This time around, I slipped it right in and haven't had a problem since. If you're worried about it popping out during sex, I read that some people take them out during foreplay and put them back in after all is done. You are still protected as long as its inserted again within 3 hours of removal.
  5. I've tried every birth control known to man! Lol My nuvaring that I got post op was life changing! I just LOVE it!
  6. My post Sat morning gym treat pre-op was always a large iced coffee and a veggie artisan sandwich. It is SO high in carb though and I was sad... Today I went after the gym and bought a small iced coffee and the sandwich. I was SO excited to find that it tasted JUST as good without the bun so it was basically and egg white omelet with veggies and cheese. SO yummy and just enough!
  7. Wow! I am in tears! Everyone on here looks fabulous! SO motivating! I'm totally looking here when I feel the urge to skip a work out!
  8. Last night I went shopping for new (smaller) outfits for my new position at work. While having a small fashion show for my fiancé he kept remarking on how amazing I am looking and told me I'm "super cute". A fun night then commenced! Haha
  9. I LOVE water aerobics and am FINALLY allowed to start again next week... I just feel like I'm really behind on the exercise wagon. Lol
  10. How does everyone get motivated to work out? I just can't seem to get my butt in gear with the exercise thing. I'm doing well with food and such, but I guess I'm just being lazy.
  11. Yes, it is for post ops... I don't know. I work at Magee. I will look on our online database and find out if registration is needed or if you just "show up" and let you know!
  12. I am planning on going to the bariatric support group on July 10th at 6 PM in Magee hospitals auditorium on zero level... Would love for you to join. I feel like I'm going to need extra support through this as well.
  13. A few bite of Cajun tilapia, steamed veggies, and a bite of roasted potatoes. It was the Cajun tilapia meal at Applebee's. It was yummy!
  14. Hey all, I am having SO much trouble getting motivated to work out even though I'd kill to be out walking on these beautiful evenings. Anyone around the north hills area want to meet up and walk a few times a week? I have school Mon and Wed evenings starting in August, but I'm usually free outside of that..
  15. I hear ya.... I actually had a day just like that. I just started Nuva ring on Sunday and all I want to do is eat. I just wish I could be normal for a while... I know this feeling will pass as the hormones balance, but wow does it suck right now. Side note: thank you very much to your husband for serving and you for sticking by his side while he kept all of us safe. <3 our service men and women!
  16. New favorite evening snack. Protein hot chocolate. Mmmmmmm!
  17. I had 2 inches of a subway buffalo chicken flatbread. I ate the insides and a bite or 2 of the bread, but that was it. Tastes delicious!
  18. Let's do it!!! We should meet up and go for a walk through Phipps Conservatory or somewhere fun like that!
  19. I have a bag of sugar free chocolates. I've only had one. If you notice, the serving size is usually like 5 pieces. Only eat one if you're TRULY craving it. Make sure you're not just needing protein or water (I have found this is the case for me). And when you eat one-- just eat ONE. Enough to satisfy the craving, keep fat low, and minimize risk of getting the runs. Lol I was ready to kill someone for chocolate when I had PMS last week. I bought a bag of sugar free Hershey bars and had one a day or two later when I was STILL massively craving them and it took the edge off. Could I have eaten more? Sure, but I need to practice self control and I'm very proud that I haven't touched them since. Actually, until now, I had forgotten that I put them in my junk drawer (a place I rarely look in).
  20. I mixed up some canned chicken with some seasoned collard greens and a sprinkle of cheese. Yum!
  21. Made a delicious chocolate peanut butter protein shake for lunch! Mmmm!
