  1. You also could have a UTI. Sometimes you don't have common symptoms but I would check both. You can get dip sticks from any pharmacy and if you dip your urine and it shows luekocytes then you might have a UTI. I get crazy stomach symptoms when I have one.
  2. Sometimes fills take a while to kick in. I would ask for a slight unfill it might be what you need.
  3. Elcee the only reason doctors suggest a cup of food is so that people will not over eat. Even though the pouch empties in a minute if you eat fast you can fill it up to the point of it stretching. Meat is harder to pass through the band and takes longer then a minute and exactly why I do not eat meat often because it is miserable to say the least going down. Most people do not eat slow even with the band. Its just one habit that is hard to break to slow down. You can over eat and cause your pouch to dilate absolutely and that is why so many have to have their bands emptied because of the pouch and esophagus dilating from over eating.
  4. You may or may not lose weight post op until about the 6 to 8 week mark. Remember that after surgery is not about weight loss but about healing. If you get that in your head then you wont be disappointed if you dont lose any weight in the beginning.
  5. Well B-52 for you that might be true and yes I am uncomfortable when I eat too much however it is not impossible to over eat with the band. You said yourself during one holiday party you grazed constantly and you were miserable. You can over eat with the band if you want too. It might make you miserable but the only thing the band is supposed to do is signal your brain that you are full for 4 to 5 hours as it presses on the nerve. Because the food does not stay in the pouch for more then a minute before digestion occurs. It might take you all day but you can surely eat a ton of food if you wanted too.
  6. Have you had any fills yet? If so it seems you may be too tight.
  7. The band will never stop you from eating food. Its only job is to keep you from being hungry for 4 to 5 hours on a cup of food. You should not be eating 2 cups of food because you are going to not only stretch out your pouch but can also cause your esophagus to dilate and then you will end up with an unfill. You need to be mindful of what you are eating and how much.
  8. I have read so many times that people "Can eat more then they should" with their band. But let me tell you what is going to happen if you continue to eat more then you should. 1) Your pouch is going to dilate and cause problems 2) over eating and food backing up in to the esophagus is going to cause your esophagus to expand and make it slow down when pushing the food through the pouch. 3) Cause band erosion. Every single time you over eat, you are forcing your band into the stomach wall and causing pressure. This pressure will continue until it cause the band to wear in to your stomach. Once erosion happens you can say good bye to your band. Just because you can eat more then a cup of food does not mean you should. Eat what your supposed to and then if you are hungry a few hour later then eat again but do not over eat. All of these things can be avoided if you just do what you are supposed too. Stop over eating. There is no need to anymore. If you want your band then follow the rules if you don't then continue on your binging over eating ways and you will surely lose it.
  9. First of all congrats on your decision. It is not impossible to gain weight in the beginning. Your body is adjusting to the calorie deficit. I do not think eating protein every 20 minutes is right. By now you should be on mushy foods which means 3 to four ounces 3 times a day and that is all. If you are eating every 20 minutes you will gain weight.
  10. Greek yogurt, Quaker weight control oatmeal, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, protein bar
  11. You shouldnt have to do liquids for an unfill but your doctor should have sent you home with instructions
  12. Making your own taste much better then store bought anyday
  13. I totally agree with you floridadays. I am three years post op and do I get hungry yes I do however I dont let hunger control me anymore. I eat when I am supposed to and what I am supposed too. There is nothing wrong with being hungry. Everyone gets upset because they are hungry but how many years did you spend not ever feeling hungry because you never gave your body a chance to be hungry. Eat something light and move on about your day. Excuses are too many because people fail the band. Its not hard to maintain you just have to be mindful of what you are eating, weigh yourself to keep accountable and know this is for the rest of your life not just until you lose weight. Its a forever thing and life happens.
  14. You can wean slowly since you have time by doing half caffiene and half decaf. As time goes by use less caffiene and more decaf until you are not drinking anymore. That way you wont suffer from any headaches.

You might still have some swelling but I think any fish is one of the easier things to eat. Give the swelling time to go down.
  16. I also wouldnt go crazy buying stuff. Just get the basics. Sugar free jello, beef and chicken broth, sugar free popsicles. As far as protein shakes what taste good now might not taste good after surgery because your taste changes. I bought banana flavored protein powder that I loved before surgery and I could not stomach it after wards. Also I would get the 4c water flavoring instead of crystal light because it has no calories. You might be better off buying unflavored protein powder and adding it to things.
  17. I never had an issue sleeping on my side from the port. Its in the front of your stomach in the muscle. I think its up to your particular doctor where they put it. No you can not feel the band inside of you. I do feel when I get a fill it tightening around my stomach but other then things getting stuck I dont feel anything unusual. I can feel my port now that I have lost a lot of weight but it is not visable to the eye.
  18. Again I said/meant if you didnt want answers to your post then dont post. You see again you assume what I was writing. Again I can answer any post on this forum if you choose to post it. I do not care if my input is needed or wanted you posted your story and I commented to it. That is all. Now I am moving on from this because apparently you all can't. IF YOU DONT WANT PEOPLE TO ANSWER TO YOUR POST THEN DONT POST.
  19. Nothing will help loose skin if you are going to get it. No cream, exercise, tv gimmic will help with lose skin. The only thing that will help if you get it is cosmetic surgery or compression garments.
  20. First of all you do not know me. I said nothing hateful as you claim. You must be feeling guilty or you wouldnt keep up this banter. Let it go and you are no better in my eyes that you would bash me and you dont even know me. So now I will block you like I have others because this is nonsense. You can't assume someone is hateful just because you dont know how to read what they wrote. You are assuming I am hateful and I am not. Im sorry you all are having complications but did you ever think that you should be sorry for assuming you know people and how they really feel. Grow up.
