    Question

I am barely getting any food in and most people are saying that is why I am doing that. I guess I'm scared of eating and the food not agreeing with me.

    Question

I know I have posted about this before...but I am a little worried. Every single morning when I wake up I am dry heaving. I talked to my surgeon about it and he thinks that I just need to eat more. Everyone tells me this but it's really hard for me to eat because I feel nauseous. Sometimes when I dry heave I al bringing up yellow liquid. Anyone have advice? Please???
  4. I have been vomiting every morning since Sunday. My surgeon thinks that when I change my food intake to mushies instead of liquids it will subside...so far it hasn't. I have a really bad gag reflex when I blow my nose, sneeze, smell certain things... I really don't like it and wish it would stop...any advice?
  5. I had a major cold before surgery, and every time I had to blow my nose or anything like that I felt like I was going to be sick. Well it has been ongoing ever since that cold I had, except it's worse now. I blow my nose, sneeze, cough, talk too much, and I feel like I am going to be sick. Is this because of acid reflux? I am worried because I can't even take my prilosec pill that was prescribed to me by the surgeon, I try to swallow it and it comes right back up. I can't get a hold of the surgeon today, so I have to wait until tomorrow, but I have felt nauseous all day today at work. It was my first day back and I got sent home early because I was basically worthless. I can't keep doing this. I had surgery two weeks ago tomorrow (May 1st). Anyone else had this problem?

    Worried :/

If you go to the Post Op forum, there is a great post by JimmyGotSLEEVED it is at the top of the section and it says something along the lines of 20 ways to tighten your skin after surgery. It's a great post. Hope this helps.

    May 1St!

I feel like I went through a lot of twists and turns before I got to where I am today! I got the news that I am being sleeved on May 1st. I started my pre-op diet this past Tuesday...it isn't any fun at all!! Wish me luck!!
  8. I called my insurance company on Friday to ask about the status of my approval. They told me I was approved, but my surgeons office told me that they need to see it on paper. Which I totally understand. If they mailed it on Friday, today is Wednesday...when will I get the letter?!?!?!

    Best Tasting Source Of Protein?

I have tried only two different protein powders. I tried the Body Fortress Cookies N Cream flavor. I also have tried to Unjury Strawberry Sorbet. Out of the two, I really liked the Unjury.

    April 13Th

April 13th is a Friday isn't it? So it's on Friday the 13th. That is a lucky day!! I'm jealous!!
  12. I hope they do the same for me. I am worried though because they told me that I have a preexisting condition on my file. Which means basically that I need to prove that I haven't been treated by anyone else prior to having insurance coverage with BCBSIL. I haven't had insurance since high school, so hopefully things will go smooth. Congrats on your approval!!
  13. I am really worried about insurance. They are considering me to have a pre-existing condition. So I am out of this stage in June of this year. But they say it's because I may have been treated by someone else prior to having insurance coverage with BCBSIL. I haven't had health insurance since I was in high school. So once I got insurance, I started my journey toward the surgery. Anyone else have this problem too? And what did you go through? I haven't had my information sent in for insurance approval yet, but I am scared that this will be a wall that blocks me.

    Loose Skin

I am probably going about this the wrong way, but I am watching a show on TLC called "The Real Skinny." It so far is about two people who have had surgery and are now experiencing a lot of loose skin. What is everyone's take on this? Is it common with VSG, even though the weight doesn't come off as fast as other surgeries, i.e. Gastric Bypass?
  15. On my first visit with the surgeon, I had a lot of questions asked from the nurse. Most of them were about pre-existing health conditions. We talked about family history concerning health, and we talked about joint pain, and all sorts of things I may have or may not have. Then when the surgeon came in, he talked to me about what I should and shouldn't eat, and we discussed what surgery would be right for me. I initially wanted the gastric bypass, but since I still want kids someday, he said the sleeve would be right for me.
