  3. Hi

thanks you comment really helped me...I mean I know everyone is different hopefully the same thing that happened to you happens to me.

    Thanks

take your meds on time and and eat like your are told. I found that the sugar free popcicles are really a blessing. I just buy the cheap Walmart ones and they are great. i ate 10 a day while I was on liquids....and still eat 2-4 a day... as a matter of fact im going to ge one now....

    good luck!

  4. Remember less in means less out. Even if you are going once per week it is ok as long as you are not experiencing pain or discomfort...

I had a very ugly struggle with diarrhea in my first 4 weeks and I am now regular after some colestipol medication prescribed by surgeon. But I only go about once per week, he says thats fine as long as there is no pain or discomfort..

if so try some prune juice or just eat a few dried prunes or apricots... they will deffinately make you go....all natural as well...

  5. Howdy...where are all the bikers gone? lol I bet you're all out riding!!!

My name is Susan and I ride a Vulcan 900. I haven't done any riding this summer, though at 4 weeks post-op I feel like it wouldn't be an issue. Funny how the teenage sons don't think it's cool to ride with mom though...so everywhere we commute together, I have to take a car. WAAAHH

Oh well, can't wait to feel "small" on my bike next Spring hahahaha Maybe it will even not feel like a spectacle riding behind hubby on his VN2000.

Just checking in here...there have got to be more folks who ride!?

    See ya!

    Susan

I ride a 2005 Harley Davidson FXSTI and My wife ride in the second position :D

  7. People without weight issue tend to just think of people with weight issue as lazy or just undisciplined. I can tell you I have been on many diets for more than a year and some more than 2 years and they all make you lose weight but none of them last forever.. They just do not have the perspective of being over wieght. If they had to wear a fat suit for just one day in public it would change their mind forever.... Consider the source and move on with your life, most of the time they are not even worth wasting time to try to educate them....

  8. Know that most of the replies you just got were from Women. They seem to have a little more of an issue drinking large amouts of fluids after the surgery in general. I as a male found it to be really easy to get down all 64 oz. of Fluid every day and I went back to work in 6 days...

Good luck and try to post you questions in the Man Room section for a more male perspective if needed.....

  9. Hey guys! I'm in Conway and was sleeved in Van Buren by Dr. Goodnight on 3/28/11. I have lost 67 since surgery day but 115 total since starting my journey. I am actually going to have a photoshoot in a few weeks to do some marketing for Dr. Goodnight and Summit. I'm really hoping that this will help get the word out in AR about the Sleeve and what a great option it is.

Just to introduce myself.....I am a wife, mama to 2 kids of my own (4&8) and to two foster children (5&12). I work from home but travel to NWA almost weekly for work.

Great to connect with you all!

P.S. Holly- Dr. Goodnight has a very good self pay price. Not sure what you're paying in MX (and not asking or being nosy) but just wanted to throw that out there. :)

    Lanette,

Very glad you found this post, I have been going to the support group meetings and to the seminars since my surgeries. Dr. goodnight has asked me to speak at the seminars several times, it is my pleasure to help out how ever, I am really not much of a wall flower. Not very shy at all so any question is not off limits to me. I would be glad to help i just do not one person to suffer the way i did for 10 years wanting to have a WLS..

  10. post-14361-13813657219754_thumb.jpgHello all, I am HollyB. I am going to Mexico for my surgery on 9/1, insurance too restrictive, looking forward to the journey, I have been overweight basically all my life and am looking forward to being slim! Also looking forward to more energy, no more type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension and all that stuff. I have a 7 year old child and I look forward to being healther and more active with her. Suprised there are not more members, I know lots of people are getting sleeved ! Here's to a great future - HollyB.

Hi holly glad you posted always a good thing to hear from a fellow Arkansan. I wish you well on you trip to Mexico. I just would like to tell you that if you are Self paying Dr. Goodnight is doing these surgeries very reasonably for self pay. I am not trying to change your mine just relaying some information....

    Good luck!

  11. Welcome Jim!! I had surgery with Dr. Goodnight on 3/28/11 and cannot say enough positive things about him!! Have you gone to any of the support group meetings? I live in Central AR, so I haven't been able to make it to one yet. How have things gone for you since surgery?

    Lanette,

I am doing really great, I just broke through 350 last week as of today I am 345.6 lbs and I love my sleeve... It keeps me honest in my Quest to lose weight the vey thing i could not do for myself!
