December 2011 Sleevers Update
I will go first; I have lost 40lbs in 8 weeks. I still drink two protein shakes a day and I am trying to stick to my low carb high protein diet. I am still experimenting with foods and can’t eat any fried foods or carbs they don’t go down well. This is a good thing lol. I joined the gym and work out now 4-5 days a week and have dropped 3 dress sizes. I feel great and have a lot of energy.

Wastefulness
Since my surgery I can’t finish any meal I eat and I waste a lot of food. I have had to start re-programming my brain to not have to clean my plate at every meal. I feel bad when I eat something and don’t want it any more and I throw it away. I have started making the smallest serving size possible so I will waste less and feel like I have accomplished finishing a meal. Has anyone else had these issues?

Post-op Gallbladder Issues
Hi guys I just wanted to know if anyone has had issues with your gallbladder since surgery. I spent 12 hours in the emergency room on Saturday because I was having adnominal pain and severe burning in my chest. I thought I had a leak our blockage, but after every test in the book and blood work I was told that I have a build up of bile in my gallbladder and might have to get it removed.

3 Weeks Out Of Gastric Sleeve Surgery Today And Guess What? Scale Won't Move!
I know how you feel I was 3 weeks post op yesterday and for the last four days my scale stayed the same, but this morning it show I lost like a half a pound. This is normal we will get some stalls throughout this journey it's just our bodies trying to figure out what’s going on. Don’t be mad or sad it is normal. Just think about all the weight you have lost since the begining of the process.

My First Post-op Appt
Hi everyone i had my surgery Dec. 7 and had my first post-op appt Dec. 16. I have lost 15 lbs already and i am off my two blood pressure medications already. The staples were removed and felt soooo much better just a little sore around the staple site but that has passed. I do get dizzy when i stand up and find it hard to get my protein shakes down. I don't like to sweet creamy flavors anymore. The Unjury chicken broth is good but i need some other options. I hope everyone is also doing well. I am still trying to get use to my sleeve and learning how to slow sip has been the hardest. Bad habits are hard to break.

Gastric Sleeve Surgery Not As Bad As I Thought
Hi everyone I had my surgery 12/7 and I am 4 days post-op and feeling better each day. The first night after surgery was ruff because I woke up with all sorts of drains and tubes and was still under the affects of the anesthesia. I was able to get up and do one lap around my floor. I had some dry heaving and vomiting but the nurses were quick in giving me meds that stopped it. The next morning I had to get up early to drink some nasty blue substance to check for leaks in my JP tube and then I had to go to radiology for the leak study and everything was clear. After the nurses removed my catheter I was able to do two laps on my own. It took me most of the days to be able to use the bathroom but I was able to concur that to and after a few more hours I was discharged. The worst part for me has been the gas, GasX has not really helped but walking and trying to drink warm liquids have. My stomach has been making the most incredible noises and sounds I have every heard. Today the gas has not been to bad but I have been walking at least 10 minutes each hour and sipping very slowly. Yesterday is when I started my full liquid post op diet and it took me 4 hours to finish 8 oz and that was all I could handle. I sip slowly on water in between and do feel tightness if my sip is to big. Each day the soreness is better and I have a little more strength. I know this is going to be work and take time but so far so good. I got on the scale this morning have lost 8 lbs since surgery. I hope all my other December sleevers are doing well.

Preop Gastric Surgery Diet Is Awful!
I am in my second week, but the first few days were hell. I have add more protien by eating hard boiled eggs and that has helped. I do sleep alot more and i am tired all day. It does get easier the second week just give it time, but it is NOT easy at all. After surgery you will have these same issues so this is preparing you for that.

Gastric Sleeve Pre-op Torture
Thanks for the advice; I have been good and not cheating. I have been socializing and my first day of pre-op is not going so bad. I am thinking about the bigger picture and where I want to be this time next year.

Gastric Sleeve Pre-op Torture
I started my two week pre-op diet this morning. The day before Thanksgiving, and my co-workers are having a luncheon that I am not participating in and everyone is asking me why I am not eating. I have been telling them I am not feeling well and that I am going to pass. It’s going to be a long day because the break room is across the hall from my office so I can smell all the food and watch everyone walking back and forth. Do I close my door and cut myself off or due I muster up all my will power and just say know?
