Thanks everyone! I was banded in 2011 and in July 2013 all was great had the band under control and NO RESTRICTION it was light a light switch! My doctor and I did two fills ( cleaning it out Fluid was a little yellowish) did a EDG everything looked fine. Replaced port then went for a fill and there was that color of fluid again. Dec 18 we decided together to go in and see what's happening he was worries about the first stages of erosion of the band.... Nope it was an erosion of the tubing " the tube was crystalized" My surgeon is very professional and he didn't really have answers for me... He said there was one case he heard of that was in Vegas but didn't know why this happens! So he replaced everything including the new port he did weeks prior. My questions are what it my PH balance ? Did I do something wrong ? Was the tubing defective? Was it the acid into body ? The band was fine! Same material right! I just want to do good this time around and it seems the more you know the harder it is for me in my head. Appt today at 2 for my 3 week post op ( suppose to be 2 weeks but because of the holiday and my work schedule). I am going to ask for a slight fill he put 1/2 cc fill durning surgery swelling is down and OBVIOUSLY I can eat... I think when I ate the skin the fried part just made my belly hurt that's all! I have been so clean and good but couldn't resist now I know... Thanks again for the encouragement and listening I think that's all I needed plus a kick in the butt!

I am my last week of post-op being doing good until today. I went to KFC had the mash potatoes and a couple of bites of chicken breast but did cheat and took a bite of the crispy outside. I really feel sick. I can't be doing this enough is enough I know better this is my 2 nd band what am I thinking!!! I really hate myself and I do have an appt tomorrow I need a head check! Thanks for listening ;(((

Thank you everyone my doctor is VERY reputable and I highly doubt that the saline was bad.... I have watched every fill let along asked all the questions. How can saline be bad? It comes from a sterile vial with needles that are in its own sterile packaging. I think my body crystalized the tubing but the band was in prefect condition so that's where the confusion comes in for me. I totally get the patient privacy I just wanted to reach out to the band world to see if anyone had heard of this. I will be reaching and following up with allergen to see if it was defective or what they find. please keep your comments coming I need closure and want this to be right the 2 nd time around.

Hello everyone or anyone who can help me with my question. I was banded in 2011 everything was great until July of 2014 NO restriction after an EDG, port replacement and still no restriction we had to remove and replace my entire band on 12/18/13. My tube was crystalized and leaking. My do doctor said he had never seen this before only heard about one case of this in Las Vegas. I feel like I need answers and not getting it from google or my physician. Do you think you can ask your doctors why this happens? The band was good no erosion but the tube was??? Is it aspirin, alcohol? My PH in my body? To much acid? Am I eating wrong? Was I red the red zone for to long? PLEASE I don't want to do this again and would LOVE any feedback. Thanks in advance! Going strong and wanting to do it right the second time around.

I was just banded 2 weeks ago and was I. The same boat. I would boil some pinto Beans with a dash of olive oil and salt and 2 to 3 hrs later drink the broth soooo good. I also would so wonton soup and any of my favorite Soups and just do the broth. Good luck it will pass.

Hi - I actually had a a tube erosion and had to have everything taken out and a new one put back in it was a bump in the road. I and 2 weeks post op now.

Hello- I am having the same problem I was doing great for no gills up to a year and felt restriction. Then just one day I could eat anything. Made an appt got a fill (didn't see the fluid) no restriction went back a week later doctor saw that the fluid was a little yellowish (like old blood) he washed my band out and put in 4 cc one week later less than 3 cc came out with the yellowish fluid and almost like these little floaties of particles. We schedules a upper GI . The band looked good but he scheduled a port replacement. He did this 2 weeks ago and he didn't see a leak in the port so he sent it to allergen ( standard procedure waiting to hear back) 1 wk after replacement saw him he took out the same amount if fluid he put in but fluid slight yellow. I am scheduled in 1 more week to see if the clean fluid is the same color. He had no idea what's happening. Anyone please help!!

Hello 2911 - I'm having a yellowish color in my syringe did you ever find out what the problem was? Very interested in knowing the outcome?

I just received and EDG 2 weeks ago and a port replacement a week ago went to see the doctor today and my fluid was a slight yellow this happen before by port replacement and still seems to be the sample problem. Doctor has never seen this before anyone had or heard of this ??? Desperate for answers
