    Biotin for hair loss...

I had a ton of hair fall out in the weeks following the surgery. But, I found that just taking multivitamins helped a lot. My doc thinks my hair loss came simply from the stress of having the surgery.

    Hospital stay vs outpatient

I am so glad my Doc didn't require a hospital stay. I was in the surgery center at 6:30 in the morning, in the surgery room at 7:30AM, and back at home in bed at 10:30AM. I had hydrocodone for pain, but I only took it for the first two days. It was basically in and out...I wouldn't change anything about that.

    Sept 2011 bandsters

My emotional outbursts have subsided, but now I am starting to feel hunger. I have another week on liquids, but I am determined to not cheat or undermine myself. The easiest way for me to not think about the hunger is to get outside and find something to occupy myself. A walk in the park, a drive in the country, or reading a good book outside. If I stay inside, I will go stir crazy.

    Sept 2011 bandsters

I got banded on the 19th. The only pain I have is around the area of the port. And like yours, my pain comes around when I make a sudden or fast move. I am not hungry, but I know I have to take in liquids. I'm still really light-headed, but with this having been my first medical procedure, I kind of expected that it would take me a while to recover. I had my first "what-have-I-done" breakdown last night. I was just sitting on the sofa with my hubby and I started crying uncontrollably. It's wasn't at anything in particular. I guess the reality of everything hit me at that moment. I know it won't be my last breakdown and I just have to work through it. Anyone else have a breakdown this early after surgery?
  7. I was banded on the morning of Friday, September 19. I have not had any hunger at all. Today is my first full day without any pain meds and although I am a little sore, I am moving around on my own. I have had to force myself to drink liquids, but I am pretty sure that I am staying hydrated (no dry mouth, using the restroom regularly, etc...). But, I have an overwhelming feeling of being lightheaded. Today, I have had about 6 oz of cream of mushroom Soup and 12 oz of Protein shake in total. I am going to try to get at least another 12 oz of Protein Shake down. Anyone else have this issue during the days following the procedure? Could it be the pain meds working their way out? Not enough liquid? Not enough protein? It's a very odd feeling...almost like my head is floating away from my body.
  8. I have two weeks of 3 protein drinks a day and unlimited sugar-free jello. I am on day five and I am soooo hungry. I have gone through every flavor of jello and I have realized that that all pretty much taste the same after a while. It's hard, but I just keep telling myself that it will be worth it.
