  1. Steph, Wow and I thought I have been waiting a long time, you have me beat. Good luck on Monday, and let me know how it goes. You will be in my thoughts and prayers, Monday.
  2. Thank you, and I will check with my surgeon.
  3. Well I think the boots will come in handy when your stepping in all the sh&*, your sister is saying. Then like you said you can use them to give her a nice swift kick.
  4. That is just so adorable. :crying:
  5. So Tiff, are you saying that would be okay, because it soundif you could drink one of them throughout the day, you would meet your protein requirements. I have wanted to try protein mixes, but heard about the tastebuds changing so am waiting until after my surgery. Did you say you can get this at GNC. I think even if you are low of your protein for the day if you drink part of that drink it would help. Sounds to good to be true if you ask me. lol
  6. congrats, man that ring is very shiny, I almost had to put on my sunglasses to look at it. Let us know when the big day is. I know you must be very, very, very happy. I'm so happy for you.
  7. Thank you everyone, I'm trying not to get excited, but it is very hard not to. I'm staying on weight watchers until my surgery, and hoping to lose more weight before then, I have to lose 16lbs, but I have plenty of time to work on that. wannalise, thank you, I do kind of feel a little bit more comfortable because I have had time to read the post on here, and become more familiar with the before, and afterwards of the surgery. hoping4sleev, you are so correct, a new me for the new year, and I don't think I could of asked for a better Christmas present. Thank you
  8. Hi Kim, welcome you have come to a wonderful place. You will learn alot on this site, and meet alot of great people. Lets us know how your 2nd consult goes.
  9. My first surgeon told me the same as yours, and that is what I have been working on for almost a year, so that is what I'm sticking to. Just say no to drinking and eating. :crying:
  10. I agree with you, it is amazing, on how different each doctors requirements, diets, etc are. Makes you wonder who is correct, and why are they all different, it is the same surgery correct. lol:001_rolleyes:
  11. lol, lucky for me I have had plenty of time to work on this. lol I don't have a problem anymore. Still need to work on the eating slowly and chew, chew , chew. :crying:
  12. Images added to a gallery album owned by lamsunshine in Member Photo Gallery
    Taken August 21, 2010 (266 lbs) Surgery date December 2, 2010
  13. Still not getting my hopes up to much, it seems like everytime I do something happens. But can't help but be a little, okay alot excited. lol WOO HOO:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
  14. It will come sooner then you know. Trust me I have working on getting this surgery for almost a year. I actually thought I was going to have my surgery last December. lol Boy, was I wrong about that. lol Let me know when you get your date.
  15. 6 more days, how exciting, you will be fine. I know you probably can not help but be nervous, but so exciting too. It is upseting for me because my original surgery date would of been this Tuesday. I get a little upset thinking about it, but still thankful it is still in my future. I will keep you in my thoughts, and prayers on Friday. Let me know how it all goes, so I know what I have to look forward to.
  16. tbtroy78, thanks you are correct about different requirements from different surgeons. The weird thing is this is my second surgeon, and so I have already been working on the the 45 min before and 30 minutes afterward of no drinking before, during, or after eating. I think I will just keep with what I have been working on and am used to now. The slim fast thing I totally agree with you, I was totally shocked when she even mentioned slim fast. I think I'm going to play it safe, and NO Slimfast for me. lol Thanks for the reply.
  17. Has anyone had their surgery performed by Dr. Blaine Nease in Hunington, WV?
  18. So when I spoke with the nutrionist at the VA, she told me that I could not drink 15min before, and 15 minutes after I eat. I thought this was quite interesting as my last surgeon told me 45 min before and 30 minutes after. What did your doctors tell you. Oh and great news, I don't have a pre-op diet. Oh and another thing she told me I could drink slimfast, where my last nutrionist told me no slimfast as it had to much suger, and carbs in it. So what do you think. I think I'm going with the advice of the first nutrionist, as this lastest one is witht he VA, and not with a Surgery center, and I just did not like her. lol How long do you you wait to drink before and after dinner, and was anyone cleared to drink Slim Fast?
  19. I went and spoke with the head surgeon at the Hunington VA, met with Anesthesiologist, and their nutrionist. I am cleared for surgery, and received my date. Are you ready for this, December 2, yes that is right December 2. It sounds like it is so far away, but I'm sure the time will go by fast. To early to start counting down the days. lol But at least I have a date now. :thumbup1:
  20. thinoneday, I'm happy for you, keep up the good work.
  21. Good luck, everything will go great. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Next time we hear from you, you will be sleeved.. That sounds so exciting.
  22. Branc1 It is a small world. I'm hoping to be going there tomorrow or Wednesday as I need a ultra sound of my gallbladder before Friday, I'm just waiting for my Doc to call me. We will have to get together if you are ever there during the day, or we can meet for lunch we can have broth or something. lol .
  23. I joke with my daughter, that my number one thing I want to buy is a skinny girl car. lol I probably won't but she is 15 and it makes her so mad, when I talk about me buy a little sports car. Ok for things I want to do, and buy, that list could get long, but here it goes. I want to take my daughter to a amusement park, and ride the roller coasters with her. I want to join our adult soccer, or soft league here in town, as I loved playing when I was teenager. I'm going to join a tennis league, in a town near by, and maybe even look for a man. lol I'm not sure about the last part of that, I may buy me a yorkie puppy instead. lol I'm moving back to Florida, and going to the beach every weekend. I'm going to go get a family portrait done with my daughter, because now I hate getting my picture taken and will not go to a photographer. Well that is just a few I can think of , but like I said there are many more.
  24. I could not of said it better myself. I tell people and anyone who has something negative to say I just block what there saying out, and usually it is someone I don't even know, so I hear blah blah, blah. My family and friends are all very supportive, of me. I had to tell my co-workers because they have heard me cussing at the VA a few times. Worked out good for me they are all going through their clothes, and giving me handmedowns. I'm very excited. lol
  25. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing you a great surgery and a speedy recovery.
