    SUPPORT NEEDED

I think I was a little emotional too after surgery but it past pretty quick. I was banded on October 10th and I'm still learning the in's and outs of this band. And what I'm finding out is there isn't always rhyme or reason with it. I can eat the same thing one day and it goes down fine then have it again another day, and it get hung up in the band and cause me pain. I have had this a couple times since i got the band, scary sometimes and painful but not so bad you cant stand it.....and dont be scared to go through it...its bound to happen at some point just part of the process of learning to deal with the band. I'm sure your still pretty tender from surgery so alot of the burping and stuff still tends to put pressure on the abdomen . Wish you the best of luck and hope to continue to keep updated with your progress , take care and all the best......we're on an new journey and it gets more exciting everyday. Take care and add me to your friends list . quote name='Brat1024' timestamp='1320361953' post='1681631'] Hi everyone....I was banded on Oct 31st!!!! I thought I was doing ok.....but I seem to be having a few issues and I was hoping I could get some feedback from all of you wonderful bandsters!!!!! I love this site I read and read and read lol. Ok so here goes 1st day home cried like a baby the entire day......cried and cried and cried. Still a little emotional but it is getting better. That is not wht I really want but again EMOTIONAL basketcase. Ok so here are a few things I have experienced 1. when I sipped some raspberry ice crystal light I immeadiatly got watery mouth like right before you puke...I didnt puke I just spit and didnt drink that again....it also happened when I took a little bit of sugar free strawberry jello???? Has this ever happened to anyone?? I am tolerating broth, water, sf popsicles and protein...not sure what that is all about?? Ok 2. when I burp it hurts!!!! it's terrible, like a spasm or something...normal?? IDK....ok and last because I keep rambling I will try to make this short why am I a nervous wreck about going on to the mushie stage??? I am afraid that I will get stuck or get the slime thing IDK what is my problem I am so nervous guys please help...any responses will be appreciated. I am going thru it!!!! And I dont really feel hungry, which is good I guess And when can I drink normal!!!! This sipping stuff is killing me I feel like im not getting enough and at times i'm lightheaded??? Ok im done...sorry I am a mess
  4. had lapband on the 10th of October started eating soft foods when they told me to and trying to graduate to solid but having a hard time with meats and anything too thick like baked potato just smashed up. should i continue on liquids? even hard boiled egg chopped up caused me some pain. I have follow up on Nov. 10th, just dont want to be a whiney patient so asking if anyone else having trouble going to solid food or meats. Even rice in chicken rice soup had three or four bites and had a ...

Had my lapband october 10th, not far behind you. I have lost total of 11 lbs since I started this journey. Surgury went well and healing pretty quick. Just a little tender still at the portsite. October Bandsters!!!

Hi Raniscan I had my band on October 10th and had all the same feelings as you too when I came home the large incision site *Portsite* was extreamly sensitive. Felt like someone had a large branding Iron pressing on my inside OR an entire behive stinging you at one time. After a week and half still find it pretty sensitive hurts after sleep and laying still for a while but each day more improvements. I have had a total of 8lbs lost since I had surgury. Eating soft foods and doing ok definately have some constriction even though not had fill yet, but from the swelling from surgury. Good luck on your journey and hope to hear from you.

    October Bandsters!!!

Good Luck on your banding. I had my band done October 10th and Im down 8lb since the banding still on soft foods and a total of 11 lbs since I started this journey August 25th my seminar. Love most all the positive feed back I have heard here on Lapbandtalk. Keep me posted on your surgury and best of luck. Mine went pretty well. Little sore still a week and half later *the port site seems to be the most tender*. Keep up the positive thought and you'll be fine. Hope to hear updates from you

    New here

thats awesome.... I had lapband on October the 10th and have lost 11 lbs so far since the first appointment and have lost 8 lbs since my surgury date. I look at this as the 10 Water weight loss, how was your loss the first few weeks?? Have you been steady? Have you had any fall backs?? Look forward to checking your progess now and then keep me posted and good lucky girl keep it going !!!! Hello all I am new to this board But not new to weight loss I am 42 years old and live in New York I have 4 beautiful kids and Happly married I had lapband surgery on May 27,2011 and have lost 55lbs to date
  12. juice after surgury so I was "bummed" to see almost three pound weight gain *but called doc and they said normal* post op swelling etc. and sure enuff steady clicking down since, weight in this morning 6 days post op 215 so headed right direction and thats what counts. Good Luck on your surgury and keep me posted. Where are you located ??? Im in Florida.

  13. Don't discourage everyone is different. I only lost 7-8 on the preop diet which was just fat/carb free *to shrink liver* then the day before surgury I had a regular meal as final blow out so went from 225 lb starting weight , to 217 preop diet, surgury day weigh in at 219 and after surgury went up to 222 *that freaked me out * that was on almost nothing for two day but got jello/broth/jui...

  14. Hi Jojamel, thank you for adding me ! I just joined this forum and need a lot of support. So happy your surgery went well. Mine is Oct 27, 2011. I am not at all anxious re; surgery but very anxiety ridden because I read all the ppl who drop 10 lbs or more in the first week of pre op diet I am on the Optifast 5 a day with 64oz liquids. I have been on this since Tuesday and only 4 pounds down.

    October Bandsters!!!

I was banded on October the 10th. Like you everything went according to plan and other then sore not bad at all. One night stay for me I guess cause mine was later in the day .Still only able to toloerate liquids tried to take a little soft today for first time and I got a pain/tightness at the top of my abdomen so I went back to liquids, it was take your breath away kind of pain. So I'm wondering if thats anything like the discomfort you fill if you over eat or eat wrong stuff with the band? I know I still have swelling in my abdominal area so Im assuming that may have contributed to that feeling. Im down four pounds since Monday, but getting real tired of Soup broth/jello/popcycles etc. lolll I do enjoy the warm tea seems to soothe the inside of my tummy. Good luck everyone Banding in October.......lets get this "Party" started
