So have worked soooo hard to get approved and after many hours of calls and appeals I got a surprise call today. Initially, so excited....an hour later totally freaked out and questioning it (like watch out for what you wish for). IS THIS NORMAL? Now how to do I manage all these changing emotions until the surgery? HELP

when I read this I called mine and they said they faxed my doctor request for more info....weight logs, etc. soooooo pissed I wrote a 3 page letter with all of this info. what more do they want? and dr. has not gotten back to me....shitty way to go into the weekend...want answers

Hi Suzanne, Do you regret doing the surgery? can you eat anything now you want but just in smaller portions? do you still have to focus on chewing? I am BMI 41, 42 yo with 2 young kids and scared to death to do this. I have only been overweight for the past 10 years- it comes on and off...ughhh. husband is not supportive. have completed everything and now waiting on write ups so I can submit to insurance and hopefully not have to wait 6 months. I am concerned that there are no long-term studies..do you know people who are 3+ years post- op? have you heard of people failing? Sorry for all the questions, just don't know anyone to talk to. Hi there, Tryong to get some long term opinions on the VSG. Most everyone on this site is newbies and there is no one I have meet who is longer than a year. Just want to get a sense of long-term results since there are no long-term studies (which makes me nervous)..thanks

Can not wait any longer...found out today I need to go through the 6mo. a program...sooo depressed. was thinking I was going to be able to have it end of Sept. Should I use some savings and just pay out of pocket????

Got it. Glad to have you as my 1st friend on here I have a feeling that I will be on a lot...seem to be obsessing on this since my 1st consults. got it on the 24 BMI, at first I thought you meant size 24 and was confused. very excited you have a date and hope to be there soon. was just reading about the nausea, I absolutley panic about throwing up. I think I need to be careful about what I read and don't so I don't make myself completely anxious.

please talk as much as you like...I really do not have many people to talk to about this. What do you mean down to a 24? Please do let me know about the hair loss when u find out. Wow no leaks in 2 years- do you know how many that is out of? how many total he has done over his career?

LOL...I am worried about whether Blue Shield PPO will approve me. I guess I have to wait until I complete all the tests to find out. I am 42yo witha 40 BMI but healthy with no medical issues (that I know of). Meeting with Jossart on Friday..did you ask him the % of leaks he has had or % of hair loss in patients? just curious

Hi Maybe, No I am not with Kaiser- I have a PPO that should cover the surgery. I am meeting with Dr Jossart this week. I know him and he is amazing- so warm and supportive. Hoping he will do the surgery since I know him personally. If he wasn't maybe I should meet with Cirangle or Rabkin. Not wanting the DS, only sleeve, have 100 lbs (40 BMI) to lose but very mixed if I want to do this or not....ughhh keep going back and forth

Ughhh, that is not good about Dr Cirangle. I am meeting with Dr. Jossart this week- have heard good things...have you? anyone else you know if to consider in Bay area? I never heard of Dr. Rabkin.
