  1. Thanks I've seen them but never picked them up. I'm looking to make up little bags of new things for my car. I have been keeping small bags of raw sunflower seeds and pistachios in my car because they are both good for you IN MODERATION. i am totally addicted to them and need them out now...I will substitute with these and hope it works.
  2. Thanks to everyone. It is true I do think that sometimes my bites are too big even thou I chew a lot. I never really feel full or satisfied. My Doc said I should never eat until I'm full just comfortable. I do know that I need to start working out more. I have Multiple Sclerosis and there isn't a whole lot I can do for any length of time but short spurts are fine. Niterun I'm with you going to reread all my material. I need to start over.
  3. Please help me I don't get it ! I was banded last Sept almost a year now and was doing great until about 4 months ago. I have only had one fill in the very beginning. I am never full and am not sure on a fill. I still get stuck very quick unless things are chewed until practically a liquid. Another fill will make it that much harder to get food down. Right? I don't know what to do. I need to feel full before I gain my weight back. It takes me well over the 30 min recommendation to eat otherwise I am stuck, and the pain and horribly uncomfortable feeling scares me to death yet still happens 2 or 3 times a week. I need a fill but will it do anything besides make it harder yet to swallow? Please any suggestions and/or comments would really be appreciated.

Not sure either what the 5 day pouch test is. Let me know because if it is for plateaus, I need it !
  7. I know exactly what you mean. I was banded in Sept and still get stuck at least 1 or 2 times a week. I eat slowly and bite little pieces but still get that freakish stuck feeling that I hate. It doesn't even matter what it is it will just happen. I have poop bags (sorry) from my dog all over the house, in my car and my pocketbook because I never know what will do it or when. Until I bring it all up I am miserable! Those bags are my new best friend rolled up, so small, discreet and easy to carry and NEVER leak ! I have only had one fill and not sure if I want another but depending on the day I feel as thou I can eat a lot although I have never gained but losing slow.
  8. Wow it's different and I think I like it. When I first went on I thought I was on the wrong site so I went off and back on again then realized is was the site. I was gone about a week and things have changed and I was lost. I hope everyone is doing well. I am just getting over being stuck most of the day on a piece of chicken. It's hard to believe that with the pain that comes from that isn't enough to make me remember to chew chew chew! I haven't been stuck in over a week but when it happens OMG I get so mad at myself. I wish there was a quick fix for when it happens but I guess then that wouldn't be reinforcing the fact that we need to eat slow and chew till the food is pureed.
  9. Been gone for awhile anyone living back East knows how crazy it has been with the snowstorm. Anyway my one daughter her husband and 4 kids moved in for a week till there electric came back on. Was nice and was still able to watch my food. Had this been presurgery everyday would have been a party and I would have gained a good 5 lbs at least in the time they were here. Had my first fill today. It was so easy and interesting. I didn't feel anything and loved watching how it works. I only got 1cc and of course I'm on liquids so not sure how it will work as far as the tightness. Glad to be back hope all is well and doing great !
  10. I asked my Dr. the day I went to the Nutritionist (same office) and there is nothing in it. I had chicken today and NO pain ! Took me for ever to eat it but it worked.
  11. But I haven't had any fills yet that's what is confusing me
  12. Thanks I was thinking maybe I could be swollen too from the vomiting. Liquids for the weekend ...great idea. Time to rest my band !
  13. I am now having the problem of not knowing when I am satisfied. I mentioned this in another forum but saw that this is where I needed to post. I don't ever get a full or satisfied feeling. My first and only clue is I can't swallow....at that point it is already to late. I immediately stop and then I get the foaming and sharp heart attack type feeling for the next few hours. I haven't even had a fill yet. I even having trouble now swallowing my medication and my dr said I could cut it in half but no smaller and no crushing it. I am so uncomfortable after taking them everyday and that is the beginning of not wanting to any solids the rest of the day. I want to start being able to have this be a normal part of my life and stop being a fear of eating. I am very excited to get to my sweet spot and know what that is like, it must be a great feeling. Not sure why I am having this problem now I was fine with solids for a week or two then this started. Any ideas?
  14. I know where you're coming from except I have had no fill yet and feel like you. As long as I'm on Protein shakes, Isopure or any liquids I'm fine. In the last couple of weeks I am petrified to eat anything solid. I have been feeling like I'm going to die and then throw up for the next 1 - 2 hours almost anytime I eat solids. I couldn't chew any slower or longer if I tried it is practically liquid when it goes down. I'm afraid I did something to the band because of the vomiting, that's the one thing my Dr. said to try and be careful not to do because of band slippage or stretching of the pouch. I'm due for my first fill on Nov. 8th but am scared to get it because of it being harder to eat solids than it is now. On the other hand I need it because I am starved and want real food. One more thing ! I never feel full or that I am getting close to it. The only way I know I'm done is when I get the first feeling in my throat that it won't go down , then the chest pain. I stop immediately but it's already to late.....It's vomiting and slime time !!!! Shouldn't there be a feeling in between? I'm not even eating much before it starts. I'm lucky to get in 600 - 800 calories a day and that is including the protein drinks.
  15. I was done on the 14th of Sept and still haven't had a fill. I'm scheduled for the 8th of Nov. I have had 3 really bad blocks in the last 2 weeks so I'm a little scared to go smaller although I want to get it.
  16. Hey Missy welcome ! I'm from North Jersey as well. Good luck with your surgery and don't be scared just think of it as a new journey to a more healthier you. On the other hand you wouldn't be normal if you weren't scared. I thought I was as prepared as you could be but the closer it got I was having 2nd and 3rd thoughts. I couldn't believe how much I kept thinking about whether I was doing the right thing. Believe me worry is normal but completely unfounded. I am so happy with my decision and would definitely do it again. I won't be getting my first fill until Nov. 8th but my appetite is already much less, don't get me wrong I still get hungry but not as hard to handle.
  17. Thanks getting it tomorrow.
