  1. Ok thats good news! Thank you!
  2. I have occasional pain at the base of my sternum, like right before you get a hick up followed by a burp. Only thing is I never get the hickup or the burp. Or like yu gotta burp and it just dont come up. That and port site tenderness is the only issues I got. Not feeling sick or anything, I actually feel great and I was just banded july 25th. Has anyone else expirenced those quick pains near your sternum? Thanks Scott
  3. The only advice I can think of right now is, don't let ANY question go unanswered between you and your doctor. There is no stupid questions when it come to surgery and more importantly, your future. If there is any questions you have for me, fire away... I will answer any question to the best of my knowledge. I wish you luck on your journey and keep us all posted! scott
  4. I am doin alright I guess...Still a bit sore arund the port area, but healing up very well. Dr. Adam Goldstein was my surgeon at voorhees. And I recommend him to anyone! Great doctor, he is great at what he does, period! I am in cumberland county new jersey do I am not far at all from exit 1...lol Matter of fact I migh head that way this weekend to walk the boards. I was lucky to have lost about 55 lbs by seeing a nutritionist 6 months prior to surgery. Since surgery on monday I think I have lost a couple lbs. Good luck to everyone and stay in touch! Scott
  5. I was banded on this past Monday the 25th. I lost about 55 lbs pre-op with the help of a nutritionist for about 6 months. I was on a liquid diet one day prior to surgery and am still on the liquids now and should be aloud mushies on the 2nd of august. I may have lost a pound or 2 so far since surgery but not really concerned with losing weight right now as much as I am worried about healing. Although losing is a bonus right now. I wish everyone luck with their journey! Scott
  6. I am in Southern New Jersey and I was just banded Monday at Virtua of Voorhees.
  7. I was also banded on the 25th. My doctor took my stomach and lapped it over the band and sewed it in place so it doesn't slip, not sure of the name of that procedure or if there is a name for it. I too have alot of gas and diareahha. Gas-x seems to help alittle bit with the gas. Pain is well controlled with oxycodine (percocet) makes me really tired and I sleep quite a bit. Getting tired and bored of sitting around already. LOL Can't wait to have some real food agin but that is a long ways off yet. It's pretty cool how we all were banded on the same day. Keep in touch and let me know how you guys are going! Scott
  8. 2 days post op and feeling quite sore. But feeling pretty good at the same time. Finally got a good nights sleep lastnight, couldnt sleep in the hospital monday night. However I am kinda glad I got to stay over night so I could have good pain meds! LOL Other then the gas and just pain soreness from surgery I feel good. Starting to get bored sitting around already, just hope I dont get myself into trouble. LOL Talk to everyone soon! Scott
  9. Surgery was yesterday and everything went great! I had to stay over night because of sleep apniea. Needless to say I got hardly no sleep. Just not easy to sleep in a hospital. I am quite sore but it's nothing that hasn't been kept in check with pain meds. I am glad to be home to get some sleep, relax and start the healing process. Thanks everyone for their support! Scott
  10. Well I made it! I am quite sore but it's nothing that can't be handled with pain meds. Glad to be home so I can get some peace and quiet, and most of all SLEEP! It really does suck tring to sleep in the hospital. Talk to everyone soon. Scott
  11. Thank you everyone for your kind words! I surely will let everyone know how I am doing as soon as I get home. itskellyraye, Good luck to you also! You be sure to let me know how your doing as well...lol Talk to everone soon! Scott
  12. Well...It's been a long time coming but I have to be at the hospital tomorrow morning at 8:30 am for surgery. Quite nervous about it, but at the same time I am excited for a new begining! This will probably be my last post until sometime tuesday because I have to stay over night per doctors orders because of sleep apneia. Sleep apneia being one of the problems I hope goes away with weight loss! So wish me luck everyone. And I will post agin when I am home. Scott
  13. I am being banded this monday July 25th. Very excited yet very nervous. Been working on this whole process since Feb of this year, but have been contemplating the band for quite some time. Good luck to everyone! Scott
  14. Stan, it is great to hear your doing so well with your band! Also your advice and words have put my mind a little more at ease. I am still a little worried about the whole 2 week liquid diet post op. I will probaby go crazy hahaha. But I am sure I will get through it. Thanks for all your time and advice, I look forward to talking to you again soon. Scott
  15. Hello Stan! Thanks for replying. Actually no my Doctor does not have me on a 2 week pre-op liquid diet. I see alot of people do and alot of people don't have to do the 2 week pre-op marathon. However I had to lose 35 pounds before he would do the surgery, so maybe thats why. I do have to do a liquid diet the day before surgery, and a 2 week liquid diet post surgery, but I think that is standard for everyone? I am excited as I can be, but nervous as I have ever been at the same time. How has your recovery been post op? And how do you feel now at almost a month later? Thanks Scott
