Like everyone else I have tried diets and exercise but nothing seemed to help me get back on track. I always gained back my weight and then some. I recently discovered that over the last 10 years I had put on 100lbs. In January, 2011 I stepped on the scale and had the shock of my life.... I had hit a whopping 462 lbs. and I felt terrible in almost every way. Now in addition to being Obese I have developed HBP and Sleep Apnea, and exercise was getting nearly impossible with sore joints, etc...

ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH!!! I decided that 2011 was going to MY YEAR, and that I was going to take back what I was pushing away from myself... "My Life"!!!

On June 22, 2011 I had a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy procedure at the Lahey Clinic in Mass. The Bariatric team there is incredible. Very professional and dedicated individuals. My surgery was done laproscopically by Dr. Napamashay.

Feel free to follow my journey. I hope to share personal experiences, education and information so that others can benefit too.
