  1. I have no words. Damn girl, great job.
  2. I'm a little confused. 4 cups is only 32 ounces.
  3. Fastest resolution I've ever seen in a post!
  4. I'm jealous that so many of you had no pain. It hurt when mine was removed, but it wasn't so bad that I couldn't handle it. Mostly it was just a really bizarre feeling. Right after is was removed, my abdomen felt so empty and hollow. That was strange. It was so nice to have it gone though.
  5. I spend a lot of time thinking about food. It's killing me.
  6. Don't worry! The hospital will keep you until you can drink on your own. In a few days, you'll feel right as rain.
  7. I feel like that often and the only thing that helps me is to eat more. When I eat more food (especially protein) one day, I feel better for a bit longer the next day.
  8. This was my first thought too regarding the stomach pain. As far as the foods that cause diarrhea, some of those were the same foods that caused the same trouble in me prior to my surgery, so it doesn't seem strange that they would make trouble with a more sensitive surgeried tummy. I'm not far enough out though to know for sure.
  9. Mine did that and nothing helped. After a round a week, I ended up feeling pretty bad from avoiding liquids so I went to the hospital. They hydrated me through an IV for a few days and after that I was much better. There wasn't anything wrong with me or my sleeve. I just had a lot of swelling and I have no tolerance for pain. What you're experiencing is completely normal. Hang in there.
  10. Thank you all so much for your words. It helps more than I can say to know that other people have felt what I'm currently feeling. I will do my best to stop freaking out. I think I wasn't really as mentally prepared as I thought for this huge change. I'm working through that now. Thank again.
  11. Let me preface this by saying that most of the time I am happy with my decision and I'm pleased with my progress. I try really hard to be a supportive and positive voice to everyone I speak to on VST and I mean the things that I say. I wouldn't be concerned about making this post, but I saw another user get read the riot act for being negative a few weeks ago and now I'm not sure if posts like this are acceptable. Anyway, here goes. Since the surgery, I worry so much about what I've done to myself. I eat so little and I'm losing weight so quickly, it makes me afraid that I've done serious harm to myself. I wonder if for the sake of health and vanity, I've gone too far and am now endangering my life. Will I starve to death? I realize that their are many thriving sleeve patients right here at this forum, but it doesn't make me feel better for some reason. Are we all just in the honeymoon stage? What happens 10 years from now? There's another thing that's been causing me a lot of worry. I haven't weighed less than 180 lbs in maybe 8-10 years. I don't know how to be thin anymore. Will I feel exposed? It seems stupid, but I'm really terrified of being a skinny person. I'm having a hard time pinpointing what it is that is causing me fear, but I guess losing weight feels like I'm shedding armor. The idea of me being genuinely, really and truly thin seems awkward to me. Lastly, I'm a believer in fat acceptance and HAES. I follow plus-sized fashion and fat activism blogs and it's important to me that people feel good in their own skin. I feel like a traitor because I couldn't look at myself in the same way that I look at other fats. I feel like I'll have to give that stuff up to avoid feeling like a hypocrite. That's enough rambling for tonight. Sorry if I'm bringing anyone down.
  12. Congratulations! It looks too big on you! I was 10 lbs heavier than I am now when I got married, so I guess my goal dress would be my prom dress. I wonder where I stored it?
  13. I take the Bariatric Advantage wild cherry chewables and I HATE them. They don't taste so bad, but they're gigantic and chalky and it's pretty gross.
  14. I'm not on a schedule yet, but I'm working on establishing one. The only time that I feel what I would now call hunger is shortly after I wake up. After I eat my breakfast, the rest of the day I only remember to eat because I start feeling dizzy or weak. Someone else eating will remind me that I forgot to eat too. I go back to work soon and I'm counting on that routine to help get me back on a normal schedule. And come to think of it, I think that morning hunger is really just acid in my tummy. I feel it much less if I remember to take Prilosec before bed.
  15. Added you guys. This thread is no longer being updated. Please add your sleeve dates to the newest edition of the thread. http://www.verticals...rs-master-list/
  16. Congratulations!! It's hard to believe that you were ever overweight!
  17. I'm used to the weird food pushing since I'm always asking for modified orders thanks to all of my food issues. Once I asked for a cheeseburger from a fast food place, only without the actual burger patty. After much discussion with the guy at the drive-thru (read: argument because he kept trying to give me the meat on the side), he still had to ask me to hold on to find out if would be possible to make the sandwich without meat. I was blown away. Now that I can't eat much, I just tell people that I have to be careful about what I eat. They don't need to know why. I went to the first day of shiva last week after a friend's father passed away, and some old ladies kept asking me to take the rest of their dessert. Even though I kept saying no and explaining why I couldn't eat the cookies/blondies/other deliciousness, they pushed the plate over to me when they got up to leave. I just laughed.
  18. I'm at almost 6 weeks and I've lost 41% of my excess weight. That's percentage of excess weight lost, not total weight.
  19. Congratulations! I'd say that you've proven that your username 100% applies to you.
  20. You can completely see a difference in your face. Also, never grow your hair out again. Your haircut is so flattering!

I started eating scrambled eggs in week 4. They were odd for me at first, but now they're fine.
  22. It appears that I am gout free. No foot pain today. I'm so relieved!
  23. I've been having some similar pain in the top of my right foot today. It feels like I broke a bone in my foot. It was worse when I first got up and walked on it. My hubby thinks it might be gout and offered me some of his gout meds, but I declined. I hope it's just pain from the heels that I was wearing yesterday and that it feels better tomorrow.
  24. The leak test is just a barium swallow. It's a little gross, but not painful in the least and it takes 5 minutes. You swallow the barium and they watch it move through your esophagus, tummy, etc. Then they have you do it again, they watch again, and that's it.
