  1. I haven't had surgery yet, but I will be a guinea pig like you.
  2. How sweet! You made me teary eyed. Glad you are doing so good!
  3. Thanks Pixie for asking the question. I was diagnosed an hour ago. 108 is my number. All these years I thought it was allergies. The bad news is that sleep apnea is linked to heart disease. (I will for sure use the CPAP whether I like it or not.) The good news is that now my insurance will cover the sleeve! Good luck with your fitting.
  4. I just googled "recipe builder" and sparkspeople has a "recipe calculator" where you can type in a recipe and get the nutritional content. I remember using a similar feature on the Weight Watchers paid website. Hope it helps.
  5. Hmm I had bad adhesions during my hysterectomy as well. I was also told they were among the worst they had seen! I haven't had anything removed around the abdomen though. I wish I would have thought to ask during the orientation, but it didn't even cross my mind! I will be sure to ask before I go any further on this process. You might want to do the same. Best wishes! P.S. Just curious, do you happen to have hypertrophic scars? I do. (People refer to them as keloids, but they are not the same.)
  6. I laughed so LOUD!!! looool Loved it! Thanks.
  7. Or you can start by searching hospitals and surgeons of excellence in your area and go from there. Best of luck!
  8. Wow she is great and so are you for thanking her! Woo hoo!!! I am pre-op and have already thanked my husband for going to the orientation with me and not fussing over having to self pay if need be. I was going to do it anyway, but I feel lucky and relieved. Thank her often Joe!!!!
  9. Something tells me your sister looked and felt worse at 500 pounds than at 190.
  10. You look great! Thanks so much for sharing. How exciting!
  11. On this website as well. Go to forum called "Self Pay & Mexico vertical Sleeve surgery ". The title of the thread is "Almanza-a few thoughts" To the OP, glad you are doing good.

  13. Donna, sounds like you need a nutritionist. I love this thread. Thanks Norma and everyone else.
  14. I would start by googling the surgeons and hospitals of excellence in your area. I would think one of them is bound to have BLIS. I just googled "Tucson Arizona bariatric surgeons of excellence" and got a few. Good luck!
  15. This is hilarious and SO true! Glad you are feeling great.
  16. I believe Dr. Marema at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Florida offers it as well.
  17. Welcome! There is great information here. I think you will love it.
