Oh I am really happy that you have your date set now, I sure wish I did. I am trying to find someone that lives in Ontario going through OHIP to have the surgery paid for. It seems like a long process to go through but if it works out I wont have to pay for the surgery which would be nice. How long did it take before you got your date? Have you had all your tests done yet?

I am from Ontario and I am looking to find someone on here that has been through the referal process from their doctor into the registery?

I appreciate all your feedback and I totally want the sleeve nothing else. I havent had the chance to speak to the surgeon directly yet but this was the info that I just got from his office and it is making me really nervous. The issue is that in Ontario we can not go directly to a hospital or surgeon of our choice we have to be refered through our family doctor into a barriatric registery and then they choose the doctor that is closest to your area and that's who you get. I would rather just go to Mexico where I can get the doctor of my choice but I am not ablt to financially so that so here I sit waiting and hoping that it all works out.

What I want to know is if anyone got approved to have sleeve surgery and then went to the surgeon to find out they they were going to try to get you to have gastric bypass instead? I am so upset and I really which I had the money to just take off to Mexico and get it done.

I am from Ontario and I am just wondering if there is anyone here that has had their surgery in Ontario? My questions are... how long did it take from the time you got the referal from your doctor to actually start the process? did OHIP cover the full cost of your surgery? were you required to take classes before you were considered? what hospital did you have surgery in? who was your surgeon and hopw was he/she? did you have a drain tube put in? how long did you have to stay in the hospital? I am sorry to direct some of these questions to people from ontario but I have been reading on this site forever and it is very helpful but I need to know how people in my are feel and i have not found anybody yet. Any info would help Thanks

I am from ontario and I am wondering if any of are from Ontario too and if so can you can tell me how long it took you to have surgery? I went to see my doctor last week and he was going to get me registered but i am dying from the wait. My husband thinks that i am obsessed with this because i have so many questions and i can't stop reasearching things about the surgery.
