  1. Wishing you have a wonderful recovery!
  2. Hello, In was wondering if anyone has had surgery with Dr. Robert Marema in St. Augustine Florida. He has a lot of experience and is a surgeon of excellence, but since I have not met him yet, I would love to hear about peoples experiences with him and his staff.
  3. No, not the same thing. I was just curious. Best wishes!
  4. Wow!!!!! Congratulations!
  5. Your question is excellent. I have been wondering if I am "choosing correctly". Right now I am only considering Hospitals of Excellence AND Surgeons of Excellence. I wouldn't go to a surgeon that has not done hundreds of VSG. I also like it when all of their practice is dedicated to bariatrics. The doctor I am leaning towards is a bariatric patient himself and the hospital has a bariatric floor. Despite all this, I am still researching and won't decide until I meet him. I am looking forward to everyone's responses.
  6. I enjoyed this article. She sounds very optimistic, which is remarkable under the circumstances. Like hers, my food funerals are also from "low brow to high, and everything in between".
  7. I had the same exact situation as well and was diagnosed last week with severe sleep apnea. I had many of the symptoms but always thought it was my allergies! Now my insurance will pay. Best wishes!
  8. Great recovery! Thanks for sharing your experience.
  9. I suggest calling your insurance and verifying the information is correct.
  10. I LOVE this. Is this your plan until you reach goal or forever?
  11. I was thinking more in terms of the sugar in the protein drink, but what do I know?
  12. I will keep this in mind when the inevitable stalls happen!
  13. I'm hoping to get sleeved November or December as well. I am sending you lots of good vibes & positive thoughts your way!! Hopefully they have the boomerang effect.
  14. Is it finalized? My fingers are crossed for you.
  15. Your surgeon & anesthesiologist need to know about this. My PCP told me not to take my medications right before surgery (not VSG), and I could barely walk on the morning of surgery. I nearly missed surgery because of this. My anesthesiologist disagreed with the PCP. I could have taken it and avoided such pain.
  16. Great news! Congratulations!
  17. How do we find this out? Aside from asking the surgeon.
  18. Great responses. Thank you!
  19. That is exactly the reason why I AM telling. Before surgery I won't tell people at my daughters school, hairdressers acquaintances etc. Only close family & friends. After surgery, I will tell the truth to anyone that asks.
  20. Awesome!!! Dr. Webb at St. Lukes right?
  21. Buy those mirrors! Congratulations. Wooooow!
  22. Are leaks a sign of an incompetent surgeon? The answer is obvious if a surgeon has MANY patients that have had leaks or if a patient goes home right after surgery, eats popcorn and bursts (as I read here). My question is about those surgeons that "only" have a few. Is our goal to find a surgeon that has 0 leaks?
