I Can't Drink Crystal Light Anymore

Sort of. In my case I was ok with Crystal Light for about 1 week. After that it started to bother my stomach. It felt too acidic. Now at 9 weeks I am diluting it much more and it is ok, so don't throw it away, it might taste ok in a few weeks. (I switched to Powerade Zero, no calorie Sobe & warm tea first thing in the morning. Now Mio is my new favorite way to drink water. I still drink tea nearly every morning)

    ROFL I won't tell! :tongue2:
  4. I drank all day long at your stage and felt very little restriction. The protein shakes and homemade non clear broths satisfied me a little more than the clear liquids, but I would literally drink ALL DAY LONG! I just looked on my fitness pal account and on my 6th day after surgery I consumed 735 calories. (Other days 550 and others 650. ) See? You are not the only one. :smile1:

    Frustrating!

Not me! 34 pounds down and "only" 1 size down. 200 pounds and still a 2X. Like you said, others are a 16 and 14 at my size. I understand where you are coming from though. I would have wanted to go out and buy new clothes, if I were you. Hang in there. We will get there! Like someone said on this site, "we are taking the scenic route". LOL

    First Event Tomorrow

Can you both drive in separately so you can leave after an hour? Perhaps your sister in law and husband will understand considering you just had surgery. Also consider taking a small bottle of red Powerade zero in your purse and ask for an empty glass or a glass of water. Dump (discreetly) or drink the water and sip your red Powerade zero. I did this and I looked darn festive during the holidays. I eventually confessed after many asked what I was drinking and we all had a good laugh!
  8. I have rewritten this post a ton of times because I am 5'4" as well and picking 145 pounds as a goal was hard for me. I kept changing my mind because I have only been 150 pounds once in my adult life (for about 5 minutes). However I fear the "normal regain" that many talk about, so I feel I need to account for that. So what I decided to do was to pick a number at the top of my range, research the potential of a regain at a later date and finalize my decision when I am MUCH closer. Hope this helps.

    Update..no More Picc Line!

Hilarious and sweet at the same time! Lol. Thanks for the smile.
  10. I have what they call "underpronation". I need a good pair of tennis shoes for the gym, zumba etc. If I ever start to run, I would buy a different pair. Where can I go to be fitted? I need a place that can confirm my "diagnosis" of underpronation, so the staff needs to be knowledgeable and offer a personalized service. I don't know if the running shoe stores also sell cross trainers.
  11. Thanks LilMissDiva! I will look it up!

    Waiting For Onederland....

Same here! Lol. I find it kinda funny & exciting though. I'm weird I know. 200.5 is the closest I have been in years and years! I'm thrilled!
  15. Thanks Geewhy! Glad to hear you have a good support system and have found a good pair of tennis shoes. Are you ready to run??? I'm impressed. Sadly I have always been a couch potato, except for some short periods. I have finally started though. I have ridden my bike for the last two days and hope to continue almost daily. Now that I have the bike option, I have decided to join a gym after my overseas trip in March, so I have a little time to buy the tennis shoes.

Dr Garcia & Hospital Mi Doctor

Lacie, you have been very clear, detailed and credible. Others, not so much. You did a great job telling all of us about YOUR experience there and this website is better because of it. Enjoy the rest of your journey!
  17. @PDXman-sorry I missed your post. I completely skipped it by mistake. I will google what you suggested. Thanks! @Sleeve4me-I will check them out thanks. I like pink and black too. :-) @Geewhy- shucks! Sorry to hear about Novus right after your surgery. Does that mean you don't have access to a nutritionist and other professionals?

    The Basics Boot Camp

Since I don't like yogurt, cottage cheese or seafood (weird I know), it limits my choices so I have 2 questions. Seems like beef or pork are out. Correct? How about skim milk with or without protein powder?
  20. Yep, no longer wearing 8-1/2 or 9s. Only 8s. New shoes!

This Is A Big Day For Me!

    Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Sorry Geewhy, I have been procrastinating. I was supposed to start exercising the first week of January and I am dragging my feet. Ugh. I do have an idea of what gym I will be going (have one more I want to tour) and tomorrow I will be taking my bike to get a tune up. Baby steps is all I am taking right now. Please post here when you go. I will do the same. By the way I just noticed you live in St. Augustine and came to Jax to have surgery and I did exactly the opposite. (I think we both ended with excellent surgeons. )

I'm So Scared Of Being Hungry!

Just like some of the posters above, I do get hungry but it takes a little bit of food to satisfy it and that, to me is miraculous. I was a volume eater. In regards to pre-op, I understand your worries. I was lucky not to get one, but before I was told, I was really concerned about hunger during those 2 weeks. Perhaps you can search on this website for tips. I really don't know why you are feeling tired, get headaches and hurt if you are only reducing a bit. Try tracking everything on myfitnesspal (or other website), perhaps that can shed some light. Best wishes!
  24. Loved your post. :clap2: Congratulations on your new life.
