I finally realized that I would not be able to lose weight without outside assistance, and my personality does not fit with organizations like Weight Watchers. I have friends who have had bariatric surgery and I had long discussions with them. Since I have at least two weight related illnesses, I needed to do something to lose weight.
The surgery was not as difficult as I had imagined, and I was functining in about 2 1/2 days. Recovery has been uneventful. I am eating what I want, and trying not to snack. I have lost 20 pounds in about 6 weeks.
