I was sleeved the same day as you! You are supposed to have bowel sounds, that's what the doctor's and nurses listen to in your abdomen. I had some loud growls this morning and i felt hungry i had 2oz of strained cream Soup and it stopped. I am praying for you to feel better soon.

Odd discomfort
Hey to all the AA's! Day 3 was good to me until I jumped up and went running errands. I went to drop some shoes off to my sister and to get to her apmt its a steep set of stairs. I walked up pretty fast, passed her the shoes and came back down. Then I went to kroger, instead of me just getting what i needed and leaving I thought this will be my walk for the day. When I got in the car I felt some discomfort, figured I just needed to rest. I took a nap and woke up the same if not worse off. I took some pain meds waiting for it to kick in. The abdominal area pain/tenderness I expect. however this pain when I swallow is odd, not so much a pain but odd discomfort. it feels tight under my breasts and when i swallow it either gets more painful or i get hiccups. Is anyone else feeling this odd discomfort?

Made it home
hey friends! Quick update. I arrived early to the hospital and to my surprise my surgery started early. I was in my room to see 1/2 of the noon news. I slept most of the day monday, I woke up every 3-4 hrs and would req pain meds then drift back off. I get this pressure like discomfort under my breast area that makes it hard to get comfortable. I was able to do i chips and sips of Water by late evening. This morning I woke up at 430 and was unable to go back to sleep until 6ish. I slept on and off most of the morning. I was discharged around 130 this afternoon. I took a nap once I got here, when I woke up i was on my stomach and in pain, i then threw up. Now I have these hiccups that are annoying and uncomfortable. I will admit that i am a bit cranky. Today i have eaten some vanilla pudding, crystal light, strained cream of chicken Soup, decaf unsweetened ice tea and some peach Jello no more than 3 oz of each thing and they have been spaced out. sucking on ice chips and sipping water to try and stay hydrated..........that's all for now my friends!

i have been on a post op diet for a month, lean cuisines and Protein shakes 5-6 small meals a day, I can eat up until midnight tonight then npo. I am doing carnation instant Breakfast (sugar free). I made a list but i called it the things i won't miss about being 100+ lbs. I am a federal employee and have been on furlough for a month so that is one plus i have no set time to be back to work. however my father is having open heart in a few weeks so i am praying all goes well and that i have no complications so i can help out with his recovery.

MONDAY IS THE DAY!!!!!
Have you heard the c section thing also? I truly hope it's true, but even if it's not this will be worth it cause I hate not being able to be as active as I would like to with my son. Funny you say nervous.........I'm not nervous and I think it's because my daddy has to have bypass on 8/11 so I think I'm so focused on getting myself ready to be here for my family It hasn't set in. I hope I'm not a mess on monday morning!

excited yet nervous
Thank you all for the support. My family is very uncomfortable with my decision. They think i'v always been a big girl and they are worried that I will get to small and that I will have major complications. So I'm so glad to have found a place to share and learn. Thank you all again!

excited yet nervous
I have been a member for a few weeks and have been doing a lot of reading but no posting. It has taken me 2 almost 3 yrs to decide to have the procedure done. I have hbp, pre diabetic, elevated cholesterol and I have to take ibuprofen and muscle relaxers for my lower body joint pain. I will be 35 this fall and I am ready to reclaim my life, I can't keep up with my 4 yr old and I often opt to stay home because I feel uncomfortable with all the weight I have put on. I am 5'10 and 340lbs. Although I have been plus sized most of my life I was smaller at 200lbs. Since the birth of my child I have yet to get under 300lbs. I found out Friday (6/25/11) that I have gotten approval for surgery after a month of waiting. In a week I go in for pre surgery counseling. I am hoping that I can get a date for late July early August. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I am worried about excess skin, I know some people who have had the procedure and they have not had issue with it and i am hoping that if i do have any that it will be minimal. I have been considering doing boot campy pre surgery, would this be of any help?
