The 1st Day Of My Gastric Sleeve Surgery Journey
yikessssss! when you say your liver is slightly elevated, what does that mean? is it the fatty liver because i have a fatty liver. what does your pcp feel may be wrong with your esophagus? what im praying isnt wrong but iveread on it before and i want you to familiarize yourself with so you can ask your surgeon about it is.... sometimes with the sleeve, they make the openings too small which makes it nearly impossible to eat any foods & you throw it up & etc. what they can do is attempt to stretch it out but giving you endoscopys to stretch it. if that doesnt work, they can place stints to try & stretch it. IF all else failed, they will perform a gastric bypass because the stomach would be useless. PLEASE do not freak out! this is only something i read and the ONLY reason for me telling you is so that you can educate yourself on it and be straight forward with your surgeon and find out what the hell is wrong and possibly eliminate what i just told you. im praying for u & im here for u. <3

if the mushies are making you throw up, try adding something to it. you definitely want to start trying to get mushies in. even if its a tiny bit & u turn right back to liquid, just to get your body used to it. eat VERRRRRRRRY slow in tiny amounts. so small that u dont think you put anything in your mouth. itll make a difference. itll even give u more energy. im sure throwing up made you feel so much pain. i cringed when i read it. just keep trying. if pain gets worse, call ur surgeon again! maybe they can prescribe more pain meds or maybe itll be time for a visit to the ER! & ER trips are fun (no matter what anyone says) because they will give u iv & u will be so hydrated! more hydrated than we can make ourselves at this point. lol. im talking like im already sleeved! lol

I'm a newbie..VSG scheduled for 11/21/11
WELCOME!!!! <3 i am currently in my 5th month of my 6 month required supervised diet. im praying to be sleeved on dec 19th or 20th! youre definitely in the right place. as far as pain goes, DONT WORRY!!!! its like having a baby, you know its going to hurt but you want it so bad that pain shouldnt be an issue! i never had kids but i have tattoos that hurt like hell & i have gotten 2 brazilian waxes! i also have had my gall bladder removed which i hear is just as painful. all im saying is, i want this so bad that as long as i wake up & have no complications, BRING ON THE PAIN (with some morphine plz!! lmao). i hope this put you at ease.

youre so very welcome! we need support & thats what im here for. id want someone to do the same for me in a month! lol. i am doing better. im on antibiotics. i need to be 100% for surgery. lol. as far as gallstones, the pain would be more on ur right rib than all the way down by your waist. i had my gallbladder removed two yrs ago after having a gallbladder attack. i pray you start feeling better soon & its not anything major!

Surgery on the 14th.. any tips?
hey! im sorry my response has nothing to do with your thread but i have to say it... i love reading & responding to every post! especially ones with headlines like this! but, when the font is in fancy writing like urs & light colors, i literally cant make out the words. the print is so thin that its hard for me to read. anytime i open a post & its not in standard text, i just close it and move on. not telling you to change it because of me... just saying that some of us blind bats may not reply because we cant read what it says! but good luck on your surgery! <3

insurance approval
a week isnt too bad. id probably wouldhave my hair pulled out and nails bitten off by then but not too bad! ive heard 2-3 weeks before. lol. im really praying for dec 19th or 20th. its PERFECT for my schedule & my mom went ahead & took off work. also, it gives my insurance time to approve me! i work with kids so id only have to take 1 week off work dec 19th-23rd & then schools are out from dec 26th - jan 2nd & id go back to work on jan 3rd which consist of driving & walking. i think i could manage well. lol. only issue might be buckling their seat belts.
