  1. oh ok! then u should be good! drs know best! i work with kids so i would love to be sleeved either dec 19th or 20th so that i can automatically have off the following week! it just works out perfectly!! im praying
  2. i completed all my testing & submitted everything that needed to be completed. i assume that ill be getting my surgery date tuesday! i cant believe it!! as far as flying, have u spoken to ur surgeon or dr about that? i read once that airplane rides can give you bloodclots & you def wanna be cleared for flying. good luck to you! <3
  3. i meet my surgeon on tuesday & thursday is my 6month mark!!! im praying to be sleeved by dec 20th!
  4. yikes... i know the feeling though. i remember losing weight from a diet & everyone said i was so skinny but i felt huge!
  5. i drink nectar! its the only one i can tolerate. i drink lemonade but i also like fruit punch & i think i liked sour apple. my boyfriend loves fuzzy navel & strawberry mousse.
  6. welcome sharon! you have definitely found the right place to ask these questions!! well, with most (maybe all) insurances require a BMI of 35+ with a co-morbiditie or 40+. if aetna (which i hear is a real pain in the a$$) says that you need 2yrs history, than you will need that & if you dont have 2yrs of history stating you have BMI of 35+ with a co-morbiditie or 40+ with no health issues, you more than likely will not be approved. im sorry! you could always TRY but understand what may be ahead. as far as self pay, you should talk to the receptionist at the hospital where you originally planned on getting the procedure done. also, you can research having it done in Mexico. it sounds crazy but sooooo many ppl do it & with the same drs. ive heard great stories. do your research on it & see what are the best options for you! good luck
  7. god bless you! how long did it take for your insurance to approve you? i pray to be sleeved by dec 20th. good luck to you & keep us posted!
  8. i am feeling better sinus wise but been light headed. idk why... :-/ i am excited about meeting my surgeon on tuesday & my 6month appt is thursday! i cant believe it! im so excited but nervous about approval. :-/
  9. im praying to be sleeved on dec 20th! i meet my surgeon on tuesday & my final 6th month appt is dec 1st! i dont know why your pre op diet is so long though. ive never heard of that. i actually weigh more than you.
  10. i think we have all either been there & done that or are going through it or will be going through it. trust & believe, youre not the first nor are you the last person who will feel how you do. i think people who have negative things to say about surgery are one of two things! 1. COMPLETE HATERS! dont want to see you progress. like to see others be miserable. want to feel like they are bettter than you, etc. 2. WORRIED! sometimes people who genuinely love you and care for you will worry & will say anything to change your mind. not because they dont want to see you happy but because they have heard HORROR stories. WE ALL KNOW that WLS has a bad name but you know what they say, "DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!" people who say negative things are just ignorant/uneducated when it comes to WLS. the reason we choose WLS because we chose to educate ourselves on it. we became curious for our own personal reasons & we began researching! yes, some people fail but those who fail choose to fail. those who gain their weight back, choose to do so. as sleevers or future sleevers, we always read that "our sleeve is a tool... not a magic fix!" it takes hard work & dedication. the only thing the sleeve does is give us restriction. it helps those who eat thanksgiving dinner for every meal! we still need to diet & exercise! so when you do come across the 2 types of people listed above, tell them that you know what youre doing. you did your research & youre happy & content with your decision. tell them that this isnt a downgrade in life. this is an upgrade! its the difference between renting an apartment & buying a house! im sorry for making this so long. i just remember my reaction when someone recommended WLS to me. lol. she had it & was standing in front of me looking slim & i wanted to slap her! i was highly offended. after seeing her 2 more times, i began asking her about it more & more & i jumped on it quick! that lady saved my life!
  11. YIKEEEEEESS!!! well im glad youre doing better. im glad all iswell. happy after thanksgiving day!
  12. congrats!!! how long did it take for your insurance to approve?
  13. i am meeting my surgeon in 7days! ive been going through this since july so im verrrrry excited. i too feel theres a light at the end of the tunnel. my final nutritionist appt is dec 1st & then it will all be finalized & done! im praying to be sleeved on dec 19th or 20th.
  14. aww thank u! im going tomorrow to get my blood work completed because the thyroid level was off before but ive been taking meds so all should be fine! im also going to go and submit my pcp letter while im getting my blood work done. i cant believe im RIGHT there. its so surreal lol

  16. congrats! you dont sound conceited! you sound NORMAL!
  17. the less protein you get in, the less you will lose. once you start getting in the 60-90g, you will see the weight falling off more. dont stress it. you will have stalls. stay positive love! <3
  18. im so glad youve joined us and glad you finally posted your story! i was waiting to see if i would see you on here! sleevers, alex is one of the nicest guys you will meet and you will see it through his posts and youtube vlog! meeting him in person was a pleasure & him & i happen to be seeing the same team of doctors at the same hospital. hes the go to guy!
  19. thank you!!! im taking it one day at a time. i know before i know it, the day will be here! its been a long 6 months but at the same time, it passed quickly! im keeping myself busy. i know once i meet my surgeon (9 days), itll be a fast rollercoaster from there! i know itll feel like i went from walking through my day to driving through my day. itll all be so quick. im just praying for a speedy approval from my insurance company!
  20. you guys make me wish for my surgery even more!! im hopefully getting sleeved on dec 19th or 20th! i meet my surgeon on the 29th
  21. very well put! im praying to be sleeved on dec 19th or 20th so my wishes for 2012 is to be off my meds, lose enough weight to feel good in my skin, & fix all the issues that my weight has created!
