  1. I am sorry to hear you are out of a job. Will be praying. Can we do anything?
  2. Hi Shauna, I had my surgery the day before you and then rode in a car 6 hours to home the next day. I have no idea what I was thinking. Today the pain is much better (2 days after surgery). My port incision is extremely painful though. It feels like someone is ripping my side off with hot pokers. I also discovered a fine rash on my stomach this morning. So I took a Zyrtex and put cortaide cream on it. Later I took another pain pill that's discovered that the rash is caused by my pain meds. The rash raised up and spread after I took them. So no more pain meds. except children's liquid Tylenol. I hope you feel better soon. Hang in there. We are with you.
  3. I finally get to join everyone on this side of bandland. I was banded yesterday. I was at the hospital for 4 hours only from getting there to leaving. I didn't have much in the way of gas pains but I do have a tolerable amount of pain at the incision area. My poor belly button feels like it is on fire. I hope this goes away quickly. I am glad to see everyone is doing well.
  4. I made it. I am home. Surgery was at 11:30 and just got home. Not bad. No nausea just really sore at incisions. Hope everyone else is doing good.
  5. I had my pre-op meeting with the doctor yesterday. I love his office staff and he was very nice. 3 hours before I have to be at the hospital. Then I will in bandland. I can't wait. Best of luck to all of the others being banded today.
  6. I so cheated today. My surgery is Thursday, but I really wanted to eat Pad Thai one more time before I swear off pasta forever. It is the only thing I will be sad to not eat again. I have done fairly well otherwise. I ate a protein bar or I should say half of one the other day and it was too sweet. I don't think I am going to miss the sweets as much as I thought and Cokes I gave up months ago and I know I don't miss them at all.
  7. Thank you, Shauna for being hungrier and hungrier as you know I am right there with you. One day I do fantastic and the next day I struggle. I keep telling myself this should be easier. As for the the nervousness I am so nervous that I can't sleep at night. It seems to be consuming all of my thoughts. I will leave on Tuesday to travel to Dallas. I have my pre-op on Wednesday and then surgery on Friday. My husband is flying down Wednesday night to be there for the surgery on Thursday and then drive me back over sometime on the weekend. I don't want to sit in the car for 6 hours right after surgery. I'm thinking that would or could cause blood clots. Good luck the rest of the week on our diet. I agree with why are we even doing it because some of the doctors don't require it. I know it is to shrink the liver, but does it really do that since not all of the doctors require it. Denise
  8. It's called Lovenox. It is a blood thinner. I don't know if I will have to or not. Use your thigh it will work the soreness out quicker. The more you move the muscle the more it will help. I have given shots to others but not to myself I am sure I can do it but I now it is not going to be fun.
  9. Day 1 was really hard. Mine diet is looser then yours. I was told to follow Adkins style diet. The hard part for me is giving up the sugar. We can do this together hang in there. Not long and we have our surgery.

  11. Congrats on not eating the steak. I am praying for will power to make it through to my surgery without cheating. I have 8 days. I feel like the little train the could... I keep telling myself, "I think I can, I think I can."
  12. Shauna, I start the pre-op diet too on the 5th. I am glad to know that there are others that will be going through this at the same time as I am. Just wanted to say thank you for starting this post. Knowing there are others rooting for you is such a help. Good luck to those having surgery this next week and to those starting the pre-op diet.
  13. Weesie, Thank you for the pointers on heading home. I think it would be wise to stay the night as well. I will stock up on jello, shakes and gas meds. Denise
  14. I am from Amarillo, Texas. I will be traveling to True Results in Dallas to have my surgery on the 14th of July. I noticed my doctor didn't have any reviews. I am hoping to see some show up soon so I will know what others think of him. Denise
  15. Hi. Everyone. I am a self pay too. I will be banded on July 14th. I am excited to have found this group. There is a lot of good information. I am nervous and a little worried about being nausea after surgery. I have had surgery before and have terrible vomiting. It was good to see one person had surgery in the morning and was posting on here in the afternoon. I have a question. I have to travel 6 hours to have the surgery. Should I stay in that city overnight or should I let my husband drive us back home after surgery. Thanks, Denise
