and this morning I got a call from them UHC needs 5 years of past weight records so that is where I am now in my venture...Who called, the Dr or UHC? How soon from the time the paperwork was resubmitted was it before you got the phone call this morning?

(I used to really respect her on Court TV and I liked the fact that she was a woman who was so well-spoken and such a dynamic personality) because of how she tried to deceive folks. If you are having bariatric surgery that is going to cause you to lose so fast like the RNY, and you are in the public eye, you have to know that your life is no longer private. Just own up to the surgery and be done with it, move on. She dragged it out forever dodging the question like kids in a dodgeball game. To write a book and never mention it, left a sour taste in my mouth!:clap2: I agree strongly!

I agree with the whole privacy thing but she wrote a book and said it was a tell all about her lovelife, weightloss and general life. Then she never mentioned WLS in the book. That is not a tellall, that was a shitty way to sell her books. She gave many women hope that they could do it too, and she would tell them how in her book. That is my problem with her. That and she thinks she is the hottest woman in the world now, and she brags about all the men that want her. To me that just makes her look desperate. ~MandyI knew she wasn't going to say anything in that book! Sale gimmick!:cry

She looks fantastic, from the neck down!

Gee at list you can call an actual case manager. At UHC I can't even talk to them. I get my information from customer service from the care coordinator.

I'm sitting too! I called UHC yesterday to find out 30 days meant working days. Should know something by APril 16th. I know that is not long but....

Hi all!
I was in the store yesterday and saw Starr Jones-Reynolds new look and information about new her show on the cover of several magazines. Has she ever admitted other than a Medical interventiopn changing her life" that she has has some form of WLS considering she went from 303 to 124 lbs? She looks great, I'm just curious.:rolleyes

I think the pound a day is more likely with gastric bypass. Lap band is a more "normal" weight loss process.

pamla68: I went to the seminar on 1/20/07. I was banded on 3/1/07. In between that time I had, seminar, consultation, wait for insurance approval, pre-op and surgery. I don't know the exact dates of all. I did have to call the insurance company twice. I must say it seems like my insurance delima was very mild. Thanks, bikergirl, I have since discovered your UHC is better than my UHC.

Congratulations! How are you feeling today?

Anyone have UHC hmo choice and have been approved?
-
I don't think they post them - they send a letter letting you know you were approved. After I received mine I faxed it to my doctor on a Monday and was banded on Thursday.Did you have to wait 30 days?
-
Does anyone know if UHC care coordinators post their decision on the personalized website at www.myuhc.com?

Welcome pretty penny!

You've Got To Be Kidding!

Hi Ash! Welcome! There is alot of wonderful people on here that will be more than happy to help you along. I haven't been banded yet, I'm waiting on insurance approval and hope to be soon. Enjoy your stay here!

Pamla,I wonder if that is normal, them taking that much time to review....
Probably. I just got off the phone with my HR benefits manager who explained to me I have HMO Choice which bariatric surgery is covered 90%/10%. So I will wait.

I have UHC choice plus EPO. My pcp approved me back in February. My pressure, back, and ankles are my complications. My BMI was 42.4 when paperwork was submitted (since I began working out it has dropped to 41.5) UHC received the paperwork from the surgeon on March 3rd. I called on March 19th and they told me to allow 30 days.
Yes or no is sufficent. What are they looking for?
-
I spoke with someone at UHC and they stated give them 30 days WTH? They began to review on 3/3/07, so that's giving them 4/2/07. Or is that working days? This doesn't sound too good. Anyone on here, UHC told you to give them 30 days to make a descision and got approved?:omg: Please tell me yes!
-
I have UHC Choice Plus - they paid 100%, I was banded for $40, so far. Free Seminar, $20 co-pay for consultation, $20 co-pay for pre-op.That is a blessing bikergirl360. Congratulations!

I called yesterday and was told the file was CLOSED on March 10, 2007 but there was nothing in the system that could be seen to say whether that was a approval or denial! What kind of crap is this! BTW they gave me yet ANOTHER number 866-297-9393

I called my insurance like 3 times last month and they said they didnt need a 5 year history with my benefits, but then when my Drs office submitted my paperwork the UHC today they said they needed a 5 year history even thought it doesnt say this in my benefits. Im so frustrated.
See this is the mess I'm talking about. They received myt papers on March 1st, and it is still being decided yet yours reached their office and you got a response on the SAME day! BS
