  1. @PWMDMD hey dude, you are lookin' great wonderful before & after pics keep up the good work, while your weight continues to go down!! kathy congrats
  2. @Vikingsfan8178 all advice above is great. many OP lose weight, then for whatever reason, start to re-gain, then feel bad, then eat more and gain more weight. Vicious cycle, most of us have been there.? i would suggest finding a support group. you probably will find other VETS that can encourage you, or more probably you will meet newbies, OP just starting - and they are optimistic - and that feeling is contagious - remind yourself how terrific you were/and still are - it's hard, but you can/will get back on that wagon -you remember that great feeling from before realizing/admitting to yourself you have a problem/issue is half the battle. keep reading the board, you'll get more inspiration, and hear OP struggles too. You are not alone, remind/tell yourself that you are NOT a failure we are all here to help each other☺️ good luck kathy

  9. @nssmia eeeeeek, hold your horses☺️ i am going to play devils advocate I never had any gerd pre-op to sleeve - so reflux never an issue for me reading the boards you will see many OP that had gerd, or never had it before - and gerd become unbearable PO sleeve there are OP on the board that have revisions (ie to gastric bypass) to get rid of/improve their gerd problem - hopefully you will hear good/bad stories concerning the gerd/reflux with the sleeve i don't have stats - but in my opinion concerning reflux/sleeve - owner beware I am so happy with my sleeve these past 7+ years - it is a great choice☺️ but talk to your doc again about sleeve vs bypass involving reflux hmmmm, hope i didn't scare you about sleeve, its wonderful, just putting "it" all on the table for you and OP☺️ good luck with your decision kathy

  13. @MissSqueezedLemon welcome to the board, we've been waiting for you in the past, gaining 10 lbs in two months, many of us been there done that (piece of "cake")? i was almost 58 years OLD when i was sleeved - i am now 65 years YOUNG i have been at maintenance (little fluctuations) these past 6+ years You sound great, knowing you have to buckle down and get serious buttttt, i have to tell you your journey - reaching goal weight, is not the end of your journey with your weight. journey continues for the rest of your life - always being careful what you eat (can lax a bit after awhile) you remain strong - diligent and plain old smart, i know you can do this - us seniors are special!! good luck with pre-op and WLS you'll be great kathy PS if anyone makes you feel uncomfortable - call me and i'll swat them!!)

  20. @CelticBeautyEvolving Welcome to our group - we've been waiting/expecting you☺️ During liquids etc. - you should/will lose more weight than when you reach solids when you are doing solids, you will continue to lose at a great loss. The first 6 months (some say longer) is referred to as a "honeymoon period" - take advantage of this period, work the program extra hard, Your weight will come off easier. But..... you should follow all the rules all the time, and you will continue to lose weight, "research mood" good for you - "Knowledge is Power"☺️ good luck kathy
  21. @elegant1 direct answer is no "they" say reflux/ gerd can get worse after sleeve. There are others ( @GradyCat for example) reflux decreases/or is gone. Some OP do develop reflux after sleeve. - . doc will prescribe PPI and then reflux frequently disappears after periods of time. many OP that have bad gerd/reflux pre-op , sleeve can make it worse.☹️ i never had/acquired gerd/reflux pre- or post sleeve, No problems, still cute as a button 7+ years later.? if you still have concerns which WLS you should have, talk to your doc. But in the long run, it's your decision - good luck kathy
  22. @summerset good comments and advice. always love reading your posts you are aces? kathy
  23. @KimB7811 has insurance given the official ok? crossing fingers kathy
  24. egads............4 weeks liquid, that must be very hard. i would count the liquids from DOS. I could be wrong, (it has happened before, not often though?) To be sure, call the doc and ask what the official date you should start counting from (btw, i was on liquids for 2 weeks PO) good luck newbie kathy
