  7. @tal woo hoo, it's almost your day - the first day of the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life lots of OP will give you their words of wisdom, experiences - and that's great - lots of good info from OP on the board - end of the day, only listen/follow what your doc and NUT tell you. (and me too)☺️ Follow all the rules you are given. I always say water rules are the most important. No drinking with meals, or for 45-60 minutes after you eat. drink 64 oz plus a day. you should understand that all of "us" are different with some food plans, how long it takes them to loose weight, how much they loose, certain foods some are told to eat, and other NUTS might say don't eat that. You will have ups and downs, stalls etc. good days, bad days. Try not to get discouraged. (easier said than done) All part of the long journey you are starting good luck bud kathy This is a marathon, not a sprint. Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

@Sonnette1 do or do not - there is no try - Yoda😉 welcome to our "small" group, we get "smaller" ever day!! good luck kathy
  14. @GastricGal NO frequent misconception that the day after WLS/ and days after............. lbs keep going down and down very quickly. Not true!! your weight will continue going down, but not as soon as you wish. you are doing exactly what you should be doing - if you can increase walking time period, following weight loss plan - terrific - 7 lbs, you are 2 weeks PO, no need to worry now. you'll have plenty of time to worry later🤣 good luck kathy

HOW FAST CAN I RETURN TO WORK POST VGS?

@CESILEYRAE popular question and answer - " we are all different" this refers to how much weight you loose in certain time period, when you return to work - certain foods your NUT allows and other NUTS don't - many variables throughout surgery pre and post OP. time returning to work, hmmmmm long weekend, one week, 2 weeks etc. - depends on how you feel i returned to work the second i came home!! I am happily retired☺️ good luck with surgery kathy
  17. @KimB7811 i've enjoyed reading about your whole starting journey. ups and downs, waiting for approval by insurance -finally having surgery!! looks like your on the right road/journey to success☺️ keep up the great job good luck kathy

    mother's day jerk

@mousecat88 today is mothers' day. - i have been heavy/fat since i was a teenager. mom always reminded me of that. Being heavy was the frequent conversation by mom - my big time memory i do have some good memories of mom - unfortunately more bad than good😧 i'm sorry the way your grandma treated you🙁 She(or anyone) has any right to act that way. my mom was always my worst critic concerning my weight. once, she went with me when i was trying to buy a nice pair of pants. She YELLED in the middle of Kohl's to a saleslady - "were do you have clothes for heavy people"? I wanted to die or worse!! its been 7 years since i have been in maintenance - looking good - cute as a button!! 🤣 she made a FEW nice comments about my appearance/weight loss. Never again. its too bad she didn't make as many nice comments, as bad comments. (i do know compliments tend to go away after a while, buttt not supposed to be from mom!!) Mom died in March kathy

    Back to work today!!

@SusieQ2019 one week PO sleeve, and you are still around to talk about it?!!☺️ glad you didn't have any problems immediately PO you are probably using a small pillow to counteract the pain of coughing and sneezing. you look like a smartie so i'm sure you already thought of that good for you on your drinking water and having your protein!! many people go back to work after one week, take it easy at the office and at home. don't overdue in my case, i went back to work the second i got home i am happily RETIRED😉 good luck kathy

Not allowed to lose or gain pre-op?

@SouthernPhoenix WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME can't tell if insurance has already approved you if (hopefully) they have - your starting BMI is what counts for insurance - if you loose more weight now it won't effect anything - the insurance refers to the first #s given by the dr (ie 40.6 and startingweight If you have NOT been approved yet, your right, you must maintain 40.6, if you go below that # you might not qualify since you have no commorbities check everything out - one way or the other i'm sure you'll figure things out, and all will be fine with the world☺️ August here you come!!!! good luck bud kathy
