Scale Victory...where's An Application?
ProudGrammy replied to Piplula's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
pip 5 1/2 months PO - you are doing terrific keep up the great work can't wait to see those before and after pictures Century Club - 100 lbs down WooHoo PS i've been in a long stall, trying to creep up into the century club look behind you - here i come..... -
you have a bunch of phone calls ahead of you i thought most insurance companies require a 40+ BMI not 50+ do you have any co-morbities? can't figure why the surgeon isn't willing to do your WLS be persistent with the insurance company i would definitely talk to another surgeon if cigna is in your corner most insurances cover the lapband and gastric bypass WLS the sleeve has slowly emerged and being covered more often don't settle............it might take awhile but................ good luck

Ready4success Not meaning to laugh at you concerning "nastiest stuff I've ever tasted" but i am laughing.......i luv CC - so what you said is funny to me. course all our taste buds are different - pre or post op - i just love CC and it does have protein i buy the "cottage cheese w/pineapple" delicious - or regular CC and i stir SF jam/jelly, really good question about your diabetes.............. didn't your surgeon/dr/NUT comment that you might not have to continue with your meds/insulin after you've lost some weight? many diabetics improve their status after weight loss - talk to your doctor helping diabetes is one terrific "side effect" of the sleeve I was on meds/insulin for 20 years - no more sorry about the crack about plain cottage cheese and you still friends continued good luck

Stalled And Confused....
ProudGrammy replied to southernchic01's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
southernchic01 you ARE doing great - everything you are doing is right on target - we all have these stalls through our journey - search "stalls" and you will see other peoples comments too you are walking, drinking, Protein - doing terrific as far as the scale is concerned - always a popular topic here your DH did you a favor by taking the scale away. as long as you weigh yourself daily - and don't see a lb loss - you will think you are at a stall only weigh once a week, or every other week etc. its hard to do, but start slow, don't step on the devil for maybe three days, then continue to increase your weight loss is great keep doing what you are doing - seems to be working for you, really don't be a slave to your scale we are all your cheering section RAH RAH RAH -
ladydeenj and you too dlmeekie congrats - you are both doing great being sleeved - way to go - health, happiness....... WooHoo

[ Blugirl, POOHBEAR7699 People are never satisfied - a few months ago that same person might have said "if she were you, she would loose X amount lbs." now that you have lost all this weight, she tells you that she "doesn't think you should loose anymore" if you feel you can weigh X amount, and dr agrees - GO FOR IT

ProudGrammy replied to cantwaittolose's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
cantwaittolose congrats big time getting under that number three - how wonderful is that no small accomplishment 51 lbs down, holy moly - thats terrific keep on doing what you are doing, its obviously working for you keep on truckin' -
i bought some orville red....small individual popcorn bags - they are really little, almost not worth talking about so good yum yum - but i couldn't stop at one bag - and i ate too fast which is something i never do, i was then able to eat a second bag of course, felt so sick to my tummy if i know something like that is a control/problem for me, i just say no thank you - and put it away and DH will eat still love popcorn, and probably will have one bag on a future occasion, but WILL stop then don't worry about popcorn at movies, usually don't go to the movies - unless one of my sleeve buddies wants to go with me

Am I Always Going To Be Apple Shaped?!?!?
ProudGrammy replied to shayrec's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
shayrec congrats on loosing weight PO about 3 weeks - early to have tummy disapper i was unfortunately watching the scale more than my body i didn't want to look in the full length mirror in the bathroom after my shower one day - i took the brave step - standing in front of the mirror - i stared for a minute and looked and looked, i said "where is my stomach?" was a wonderful feeling - one day my rear end was gone too - so happy, but then i saw all the excess skin behind my legs oh well, having loose skin is better than me continuing to gain weight your belly will go down slowly too God grant me patience, just hurry up it good luck ps i changed my habit about weighing myself - i only "visit" the scale once a week -
I Feel Great! Tomorrow's The Day. :)
ProudGrammy replied to N/A's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Researching info you sound like a very positive person with a great attitude - great help w/WLS you are ready/excited for the WLS have a good nap through surgery when you wake you'll be on the road to health, happiness, and a new you good luck have a great recovery -
jld23475, after one year, working hard with the sleeve - with more weight to loose - i can only imagaine your feelings/depresson etc all the above info from fellow sleevers, is great - i'm sure you'll get more reinforcements please don't give up - you've come so far - you've been successful - you're about 1/2 way to goal - what an accomplishment get rid of the Peanut Butter and any other bad food/junk in the pantry - when you go shopping - don't even go down that aisle don't know what happened that you "temporarily" have taken a wrong turn in the road - but turn again - you can find yourself on the right path- i know you can some of your hunger might be head hunger - we can all relate to that you've been so successful this past year, you know what to eat, and what not to eat - you can do this, have the confidence in yourself that i have in you we can all give you the support and compassion you need - but you must be there for yourself - go to a support group, talk to a friend/family member you might be bored, watching tv? so you go back to bad habits and eat? try and get busier i know that the above is easier said than done - please don't sabatoge yourself after you've come so far good luck
-
ABetterMeWooHoo 60 lbs down congrats on all your success you must be feeling amazing can't you feel the weight loss, clothes etc., you've taken your measurements it can be hard to see the difference in ones self in the reflection of the mirror you'll realize that person in the mirror is you, and you'll be so happy big kudos keep doing what your doing
