  1. I pureed beef stew, ate some any food, mashed up quarter of a banana, puréed refried beans w cheese, and i could also eat mashed potatoes and really soft tilapia. This stage was pretty monotonous.

    Surgery Date

Weight loss before the surgery will reduce the size of your liver, which will make for an easier and more precise surgery. (:

    1200 Calories?

We have the same stats (: I'm almost to month 3 now but i felt like I was reading a post I've written before ha (:
  4. I don't look at people and think that I should inform them of WLS. I think it's extremely intrusive and most people know their overweight and know about WLS, maybe not the sleeve specifically. If WLS or my weight loss or eating habits are questioned I do not mind sharing my story. I think it's judgmental to look at people and think we should offer them WLS advice. There's a point when you realize you have no more control over yourself that you choose WLS and those people may not be there yet. All the advice you want to offer will sound like an insult. What if you were to offer advice to find out they're already going thru the process? If someone had suggested it while i was going thru the process I would feel beaten down. I do admit I see a morbidly obese person and my heart sinks for them because I know what it feels like. However, they're their own people and make their own decisions. Usually I just look at them as another person going through the journey of life (:

    Dehydration

Glad you're ok! I was 2 weeks out and my stomach hurt and every time I ate or drink it hurt worse. So I just ate and drank as little as possible and felt so weak and sick. I had my check up w my surgeon and they sent me straight to the hospital overnight. 3 bags of fluid later I felt much better and had more energy. I was even able to eat! I was so dehydrated my skin wouldn't go back into place if you pinched it. The surgeon said I was probably slightly dehydrated and then when I stopped eating and drinking it dehydrated me to the point that I'd have to have fluids. Lesson learned!

    From the album: Month 2

This is me a little less than 2 months after my surgery, I was sitting in that awkward pose to try to recreate the old picture as much as possible, haha!

Post Op Almost On My 3Rd Week

This was the most difficult stage for me. I just roughed thru it. Good luck!
  10. If you would've asked me the first three weeks I wouldn't have been able to say yes for sure because I was fighting head hunger, dehydration, and a stall. 50 pounds and 2 months later: in a heartbeat.
  11. Your body is still adjusting. I understand the fear and unease it may cause but give it about two more weeks. Then if you're still concerned put in a call to your surgeon. Just remember you went through major surgery give your body time to heal and adjust. And happy sleeving (;
  12. My first 50 pounds are officially GONE and FOR GOOD! I'm so happy. I don't think my eyes have caught up with my body yet (other than the really baggy clothes I see and feel). However, it's amazing to see that I am 50 pounds lighter and I kinda feel it too. Happy Sunday sleevettes!!

    Its Time

Sending love and quick recovery thoughts your way!
  14. It really depends on your NUT and surgeon's suggestion for how much you should be eating. Hopefully a plan was made personalized around how much you can intake. If not, and you are able, try to visit the NUT and you can go over what you eat and how much you should be eating. As for Vitamins, per my surgeons orders, I take: a one a day complete Multivitamin sublingual (under the tongue) b12 once a day Calcium citrate 3x a day Iron Hope this helps! Im about two months out as well. Great weight loss, keep up the amazing work! Ps. some days i feel as if i eat more than others. however, if you are in tune to your body it will send you clues so as long as you're eating on track and not overdoing it i think youre fine. dont get frustrated and if you really r that worried make an appt [:
  15. It could be a mix of factors your anxiety, general nerves, and being on a liquid diet. Even after the surgery the thoughts of 'why can't i eat more?' 'why did i do this?' will creep up on you. Be prepared to be angry, sad, depressed, anxious, etc. even after the surgery. be open with someone so you don't feel so alone. I felt this way when I hit my first stall, which was only 2 weeks out. First, I had a sort of post partum depression feeling because I was SO excited for the surgery: and now Im at at stall! My husband helped me through it. I talked, I cried, I swore I regretted it. Now Im almost 2 months out and this was the best decision I ever made. Trust me, I read posts like this and swore these people were crazy haha. Now I know I love not being a slave to constantly eating huge servings of everything. I liberated myself from food. You will be here soon and you will be SO glad you did this. Just remember--have someone to talk to! Can't wait to see you on the losers side

    Emotionally Ready?

You never really know until you go in there. It is a journey that will bring about a lot of emotions. Talk to your psych if you're not feeling ready, anxious, or have questions that they may be able to put at ease for you.
  17. A good suggestion is to try to puree some foods like beef stew and chili (depending on your NUT's orders that is) to see if you'd like the consistency and taste during the pureed stage. Also be mindful not to buy protein in bulk because you may not like the way it tastes after surgery. It's weird but during the middle of week two the smell of my protein shakes made me sick to my stomach. You guys are going to do fantastic!

    Got Sleeved 3/28

I felt the EXACT same way and the morphine just made it worse, see if they can give you liquid lortab along with anti-nausea meds. The first few days are the worst and I was completely miserable, just sit back relax and breathe. We'll get thru this, welcome to the losers bench

    Retaining Water

I gained my first two pounds because of Water retention. Remember to limit the sodium as well because that can make your body retain water! I was drinking lots of water and also had some Powerade Zero which has no sugar and is generally a good break from water but has a high amount of sodium. Also congrats on the loss
