  1. You have to loose some more weight. Its probably Water weight. That is the first that comes off. People didn't really start noticing my weighloss until I was -30lbs. Now that I am -44. I get compliments daily on how smaller I look. I suggest being more active. I have been banded for 3.5 months and have gone from a couch potatoe to exercising 4-5 times a week. I went from walking 0 miles to 4-6miles at a time, doing Zumba, cardio kickboxing, sculpting etc. Exercise is the key! It will take the weight off and have you looking MARVELOUS in no time!
  2. I got a fill of 1.5 cc 6 weeks after surgery. I declined my last fill. I would say if you are losin 1-3 lbs a week and your not hungry 4-6 hrs between meals then I saydon't get it. My NP told me to come back when I hit a plateau.
  3. Great Job Larry! Only critique is that you have the 8th month on the grid instead of the 9th month.
  4. Banded May 25,2011. Pre op I weighed 276. Date of surgery I weighed 272. I currently weigh 233. I have lost a total of 43lbs.
  5. Checking in at 233.9! Thats 2.6lbs in a week!
  6. Trying to start the week off right! Found a great trail and worked it out!
  7. Date Banded~May 25,2011 Total Weight Loss Since Banding~ 36lbs.
  8. Carbs are not my friend. In order to lose weight, I have to reduce them drastically to maybe one a day or every couple of days. I get my carbs from my food. I also only eat about 900cals per day and exercise 4-5 days a week.
  9. I work on a busy Neuro floor and stayed out 18 days. My unit doesn't do light duty so you either do the job or stay at home. Also I wanted to go back when I was on mushies. I barley have time to drink anything on my job except for lunch time so I feared getting dehydrated without the ability to sip throughout the day. I say take at least 2-3 weeks off.
  10. Oh I just realized that you just had the surgery. I was out of luck the first week of my surgery because the protein drinks were nasty and made me want to puke. I didn't get good protein until 2 weeks post op. Good Luck to you, this is a hard time but it will pass and you will have plenty of time to make up for all the protein that you missed.
  11. Chicken, shrimp, lean lunch meat , tuna,Salmon, tilapia, peanut butter, nuts, protein bars, beans, veggie patties and any veggie products will help you get protein. I use to drink milk before my surgery but now I don't drink it at all. I do love cheese however. Start reading labels and find you a few high protein foods
  12. You have to stick with the Lapband rules or it will fail in your weightloss journey. You can STOP drinking with your meals, if you make a concious effort to try. Don't put liquids on the table while you eat. You have to try because saying you can't do it is a cop out. Increase your protein intake, exercise and stop drinking with meals will help you loose weight. If you don't master this then the band will not work. I really wish I could say something else that could help you on your journey but you have to go back to the basics.
  13. Dr. Enochs did my surgery and he was great! Very nice and caring. Downside is that you have to wait 2-3 hours to see him in his office. I am now at the point where I am getting my fills with NP and it so much faster. My friend had Dr. Moran to do her gastric Bypass. She liked him. She didn't have anything bad to say about him.
  14. How frustrating. What kind of exercising are you doing? I have PCOS and so far I have lost 36lbs but it takes me exercising for 1-1.5 hours 4-5 days a week. Thirty minutes a day will probably not cut it. If I don't exercise, I don't loose weight. Also try cutting your calories to 700-900 cals a day. This is what Im doing and I am losing about 2lbs a week. Make sure you track your meals. Sometimes I have to back track because in my mind I thought I ate like 900 cals but it was really 1150 cals. Mistakes like that force me to write everything down when the scales are not moving like I want them to. Lastly, if your eating out, I recommend that you stop until the weighloss picks up. Make sure you do body measurements. This gives me an ego boost.Good Luck and I hope everything works out for you.
  15. I stayed out 18 days because I am a nurse and we don't have light duty and a stupid "No Drink policy" at the nurses station. I would have parrished to death going 12 hours without drinking because I barley can take a lunch break because I stay busy. I was weak and water for a whole week because I wasn't getting any protein. The liquid protein drinks I bought were nasty and made me want to throw up. After that I was fine. Everyone is different but I don't think I could have went back after 3-4 days of surgery.
  16. Not sure what the the letter mean for NSV but I know it means something good. I had a follow up appointment with my Cardiologist the other day and he was so happy with my progress that he told me to follow up with him in 1 year!!! (I was going every 6 months for episodes of tachycardia with hrt rates in the 200's) Also according to his scale a month before the surgery my weight was 276. So technically I have lost a total of 40lbs since April !!! Yay me!!
  17. I felt my band the first two weeks after surgery. It was so uncomfortable. It felt like it was rubbing up against my lungs. After that, I didn't feel it anymore. I do feel the port.
  18. I've lost the NHL Championship Cup. Its pretty big and weighs 35lbs!
  19. 240 must be the magic number. I really wish could get past it too. This Monday I was 238.5. But I fluctate at 239-240! I don't wanna see 240 again! Last week I got past 240 by Increasing my Fluid intake. I was not drinking the recommended amount of Water. I also went back to good old fashion walking 3-4 mile a day instead of the Zumba and other classes that I did during the week and that got me to 238 in 4 days. I was eating only 700-900 calories a day. The water filled me up and I was less hungry.
  20. Im 238.1 today. Im down 1.9lbs this week. It was a complete struggle! My weight was up and down all last week but I put it in high gear this weekend and pulled it off. I am 3lbs to my goal of 235 by the end of the challenge. Hope I make it!
  21. Jeans are the toughest. Sizes are all over the place. Try on some size 20 khakis or dress pants. Try on other style jeans. All of them are cut differently. Lane Bryant are the worst for cutting their jeans too small. I wear some 18 or 20's depends on how they fit. Just keep working. It will happen.
  22. I do the same thing!!! Lol!!!
  23. Cut your Pasta intake by 1/2 and ditch the frozen dinners. Exercise at least 3-5 times a week and see if the weight comes off. Do you have a fill? Is the PA refusing to fill your band because he thinks your eating too many carbs? Do something different with your diet and try to get another fill and see if it helps.
