Sensations in eating feeling unnatural and unpleasant still!
I think I can eat a bit more than you before feeling uncomfortable. I can eat one cup of veggies and chicken. is that much? I can eat 3/4 of an apple at a time. I can eat one tuna can + little veggies. I am trying to write down my portion sizes with which I am feeling ok. it is a struggle and an every day learning process. but honestly I wish this would last forever. I don't want to go back to consuming huge amounts of food. that was disgusting. I also would prefer soft poached eggs than scrambled with one spoon of low fat mayo. 2 eggs will fill me up without feeling uncomfortable..is that normal? or it is too much?

tell me this won't last forever
I do eat like 5 times a day including three meals and 2 snacks but little amount each time actually. small portion of food except at dinner may be I can take one cup of food ( soft chicken + veggies pureed + one spoon of mayo ) one snack may consist of only 100 ml of yoghurt another half cup skim milk + wheetabix ( I LOVE THAT sooo much)

Missing Food
yes it is normal but it will go away by time. remember with the sleeve you will be a normal person very soon. your portions will just get smaller. it takes time to cope. for me the most difficult thing is to correlate between my hunger and what I can eat. I still feel that I can eat like before which is not true at all. so sometimes I am learning my lesson the hard way. I am trying to write down the portions sizes exactly which caused no discomfort for me. and bring different small plate sizes and soup dishes.

When can I shower????
I was allowed to shower the day next to surgery as well but I did not scrub near my incisions. and I pat dry very good after showering. that is all.

hunger disappearing
just to keep you all updated, I realized my hunger was in my head only cuz I was staying at home all the time with nothing to do except obsessing about food. now that I try to go to work and read and study. it took a big part of my interest and I am simple not hungry. also I believe I was trying to test the operation and try as many food items as possible. it is head games more not true hunger. I dont want to sabotage anyone. this is simply what I have been going through. since the surgery, I don't feel weak, never had a headache except once and it went away with one spoon of paramol for kids. I feel lighter. I was very emtional in the beginning but it is getting much much better. just give yourself the time needed to cope with this most drastic weight loss measure. I wish you all the very best of luck in achieving your life goals.

30 days out and total loss are 22 pounds I lost them all in the first two weeks then stalling since then and even gained 4 pounds. I lost 26 pounds but not after this 4 pounds gain, total loss is 22 lbs. it is impossible that these 4 pounds are FAT! they must be water. I lost my appetite again and I don't feel that hungry. I really eat very little. since two days I was very hungry at dinner, I ate tuna tiny pieces in a small plate then I vomitted all. simply I can't eat much. I try to get my calories from protein. I am sure I am not getting enough but that is the best I can do. I thank god I can tolerate soft poached eggs very well and I love yoghurt. it passes very smoothly. I can also drink milk. I can eat like 2 eggs and one yoghurt a day. I am so frustrated. I am afraid I will stop here. I still have so so much to lose. as for exercise, I try to walk like 30 minutes a day. I hated protein shakes unfortunately. but my menstrual cycle was very disturbed in the first two weeks. I was spotting for like 20 days then it ended. may be all these is related to hormonal changes. the body is in shock. I really wish to reach my goal weight and to lose then I am sure maintenance will be easy with the sleeve. it is almost impossible to over eat and I don't crave sweets at all. I even hated the chewable centrum cuz it is very sugary. that is one NSV i guess.

Questions for Post-ops from a Pre-op....
a leak could happen any time during the first 6 weeks. my doctor told me to take care if I have fever, tachycardia and back pain. I think yes leakage is more common in people who had prior lap bands from what I read in different forums but I don't hold any scientific evidence.

I am starving
Bee, that is what I was told as well. when I move to solids I will feel more full. so hang in there and hunger will go away by time. I find when I keep myself busy, I don't think much of food.

I am starving
his plan is to stay on clear liquid diet for one month. and he is insisting. I could not do it and talking to you all here, no one seemed to stay on clear liquid diet that long. so after 17 days on clear liquid diet, I shifted to full liquids then introduced pureed food only 4 days ago and since then I am starving. I am not following what he is saying. I am trying to stay away from carbs and it is easy actually. as everything fills me up. so I eat poached eggs and I did tuna with mayonnaise yesterday. eggs did not cause any discomfort for me. I Love it. also I eat unsweatened apple sauce. I can't easily find a doctor who understand anything in nutrition following WLS. I know this is impossible in my country. I take all my information from you. it is not that easy to cheat actually since my stomach tolerates very little. and I kinda feel disgusted of sugary stuff which is a blessing. I am almost one month out now. I am trying to keep my calories intake 800 calories. but I am not losing any weight since I moved from this Clear Liquids phase. I just have to be patient I guess and forget about the scale for a while. I bought Protein supplement. I did not like the taste unfortunately. I don't know what to do. also my options considering flavors here are very limited. I will try to take my protein from normal food. I am thankful that eggs are ok for me cuz from what I read, many people did not tolerate them. thanks to you all for your patience and thoughtful answers.

Is this a record breaking stall???
I am going through what you are exactly describing and I am losing my mind! I lost 24 pounds in the first 2 weeks and that is all. my calories intake is also between 700-800. I walk every other day! what else can I do?????

HOME after surgery
what you are going through is just normal. I had chest pain for 2-3 days and ofcourse it was so difficult to get in my fluids. I did not even try. I was on IV fluids for 2 days. I am still struggling with my water intake but it will get better by time.

Nausea...help!!
I believe Jenn, you need to contact your doctors. protein shakes make me nauseating. I don't know why. I suffered from nausea only for the first three days post operative then I am fine.

I am starving
no proteins yet. after one month out I will introduce a daily protein shake. my doctor said after 6 weeks I can eat anything but it has to be pureed, overcooked, mushies, or well blended. but true solid food only after 3 months out. I also heard lots of nerves around the stomach are being cut during surgery and till nerve sensation returns back, the full feeling will be coming very easily. I hope this explanation is true!

I am starving
3 weeks post surgery and I am starving. does this suppose to happen????? it is getting worse since I moved to mushies. today I came back home VERY VERY HUNGRY and was ready to eat anything. let the doctor's program get lost. it is true very little fills me up but again after 2 hours I get the same feeling. does this suppose to happen????????????I hate this feeling. it is stressing me out. I ended up eating 1/4 of a mashed potato and 1/2 cup of skimmed milk with two spoons of cereals. I know this is little. before the operation, I would have needed a huge quantity of food to shut up my hunger.

need some motivation
dear all, I am 20 days out of surgery now. I lost 26.5 Lbs so far but the scale is not moving since one week now. actually it is 2 pounds up today. I started pureed food but very little. yesterday at dinner I wanted to have yoghurt. I hardly took 3 small spoons only then my stomach aches started. do I have to go back to my liquid diet? I am indesperate need of losing 22 more pounds to start looking acceptable. I am in a hurry I know but when I think that I am not eating bread, pasta, rice, cookies, cakes, ice cream, biscuits, crackers any more, then why I am not losing??? someone mentioned something about week 3 stall, How long does it last usually? thx all.

two concerns.
you are right, actually today after having this little piece of bread with cheese, I vomitted part of it and lots of nausea. so I was back to my soup and clear liquids. I just need some patience. I am only 17 days out and I have been obese for my entire life. it do take time to fix this problem:) I don't exercise at the time being. my doctor said I can join a gym after 6 weeks. I can walk like he said from day 1. today I will go for my 30 minutes walking.
-
two concerns.
ya bread was a definitely a bad idea. my doctor said stay away from bread for the first 6 months.

two concerns.
I am 17 days out of surgery and I noticed I can eat anything. I am supposed to be on clear liquid diet for one month but last night I was so hungry and I took a very little piece of bread with white cheese on top. it went down really great. only I burp afterwards. also today I ate JELLO and it did not cause any problem except the burping all the time. I am not hungry but I am not full at the same time. when did u start sensing this full stomach feeling? I just stopped cuz I am afraid to complicate my surgery and rupture the staple line. when do u guys start eating solid food? I lost so far 22 pounds in these 17 days. I am happy about it. but shirts are getting loose. my neck started to reshape. my friends always told me I have a great neck when I was thin ofcourse. my face looks much better. my chin fat disappeared. but I am wide at the lower part of my body. this DID NOT CHANGE. I hate being this wide. I expected to be able to wear a smaller jeans size but no way. my mother says that she is noticing my jeans getting loose. is it one of the resistant fatty areas in our body? thanks all for listening to me.

Looking for support
my family is not supportive too but I am blessed by knowing such wonderful ladies in this site. they are angels and they support each other from the heart. but I think you should have some relative or neighbour with you during surgery. best wishes for a speedy and smooth recovery. my thoughts and prayers for you.

Scars from Surgery
my scars are visible but not that bad. I am afraid they will get darker but let us wait and see. my doctor prescribed Contractubex 20g gel. he advised using it for 3 months twice daily.
