  1. Yay for your weight loss so far! If you ever need any support or have questions, just message me! I know that I can be really difficult to go through this journey without people in your life knowing about it, but it's definitely doable.

We started at the same weight almost smile.png I hope I can do as good as you smile.png You look terrific smile.png Congrats!!! And I haven't told my family about my surgery either =)

  2. Good Morning Friends!

It's been a couple of months since I did a surgery update, so I thought I'd post some new pictures and thoughts.

I'll start by saying how incredibly lucky I feel to have had the sleeve. It has changed my life in ways that I never thought possible. If you had shown me a picture of how I would look in five months, I would have laughed at you and said it was impossible; there is no way that I could be that small...but yet here I am. Here are some points of interest about how my life is with the sleeve:

    • I have lost 65 pounds (77% of my excess body weight)
    • I ran a 5k this month
    • My hair is falling out like CRAZY!
    • I still have issues with throwing up after eating (usually when I make stupid choices)
    • I have never felt more alive...ever.
    • I'm starting to feel like the leading lady in my own life...not the one who plays everybody's best friend.

If you want to see more pictures of my journey, you can go to my gallery on my profile page or click

  3. A little less than five months ago, I was 210 pounds. I had a hard time walking around the mall and I never would have entertained the idea of running a 5K. I've been running a few times a week using the couch to 5k app. My physical therapist said that he thought I could do way more than I was using that app.

So today, I decided to do it. I went down and ran 17 laps non-stop on the indoor track in 32:33. It is amazing what your body can accomplish!!

Next stop, 10K!!! Best wishes everyone!

  4. I did not notice any increase in hair loss after my previous surgeries but I sure have with the VSG. My hair is coming out in handfuls-literally. It's enough so that I had to put a strainer thingy in the tub to catch the hair. I went from washing my hair daily to only washing it 2-3 times a week because it comes out so badly. I run a brush through it and TONS comes out. If I straight, curl, blow dry my hair there will be hair all over the floor.

I think it's more of a hormonal issue and the trauma our bodies go through with fast weight loss.

Sasicas I'm in the same boat as you are! I lasted almost to the four month mark without feeling like my hair was going, but now it's falling out like CRAZY!! I take Biotin and Protein every day but nothing is working!! When did it finally stop for you guys?

  5. Ok fellow sleevers...it's officially been 3 months to the day since I had my sleeve. (I apologize in advance because I'm rushing to post this before I go to the doctor.) In the past three months I have....

    1. Lost a total of 54 pounds...which is 26% of my body weight.

    2. Learned to love myself again

    3. Started working out

    4. Started getting my life back!!!

I'll post some follow up comments on here later with more info, but the pictures I promised are attached to this post!

Have a great day and stay strong guys!!!

  6. Hey everyone! I just wanted to put up a quick post about my progress since the sleeve. Today marks 2 months since I went under the knife in Seattle and I can now say that it's quite possibly the best thing that I have ever done for myself. This morning, I jumped on the scale and I weighed 165.4! That means that since my sleeve, I've lost a grand total of 44.6 pounds and my BMI is 30.3.

A few things that have changed for me since the sleeve:

    1. Shopping is fun again! I don't have to skulk off to the plus size section and flick through the mumus with an ashamed look on my face.

    2. When I notice men looking at me, my mind doesn't flash "stoplookingatmyfatstoplookingatmyfatstoplookingatmyfat!"

    3. I can run! It might be only a mile or two, but I CAN DO IT!

    4. Last night, I just saw my best friend whom I haven't seen since before the surgery. He picked me up and swung me around laughing saying, "bitties! What happened to you! You look SO amazing!!" He didn't stop talking about it all night long.

I'm not ready to put before and after pics up yet, but I promise that I will eventually. To everyone who's trolling these boards trying to decide if you're ready to have the surgery or not, just take the plunge and do it. You won't regret it.

  7. Every Tuesday I go to P.F. Changs Happy Hour to get steamed dumplings. (I peel off the wrapper) The bartender there is absolutely adorable. Usually it's pretty busy but today it was absolutely dead. We were discussing the fact that I work for a major diet company as a weight loss consultant (ultimate irony, I know) He then told me that he thinks that I am a great role model for my clients. He said he thinks I have a perfect body and that I'm so beautiful and blah blah blah. I don't care if he was just saying that to get a tip I was skipping all over the place. So happy!!
