    Cooking Small Portions - Freezing?

Best investment that I have made for small portioning was to buy 12 little tiny plastic storage containers from Daiso Japan. They were so cheap but I use them for everything!
  3. Talking to my dad on the phone about how I'm in desperate need of new clothes and he said, "Oh, right. I forgot that my daughter was the incredible shrinking woman. I'm so proud of you!" Best NSV to date!

  7. Surgery date was 7.11.11 As of this morning have lost 60 lbs! By far the best thing that I have ever done for myself! Only 25 pounds to goal!!
  8. Congratulations!!!!! You're doing so incredibly well!!
  9. Ok fellow sleevers...it's officially been 3 months to the day since I had my sleeve. (I apologize in advance because I'm rushing to post this before I go to the doctor.) In the past three months I have.... 1. Lost a total of 54 pounds...which is 26% of my body weight. 2. Learned to love myself again 3. Started working out 4. Started getting my life back!!! I'll post some follow up comments on here later with more info, but the pictures I promised are attached to this post! Have a great day and stay strong guys!!!
  10. I was lucky enough to have had my surgery done through my navel so my scars are hidden I believe it's called a spider surgery or something like that.
  11. Thanks guys!! Another thing that I wanted to note is that the difference between the last three pics is ten pounds each. Sometimes I read people saying things like "only ten pounds" and it makes me sad. Ten pounds makes a world of difference!!!

    Two Months Out!!

Good for you! That's the thing about the sleeve...it's still going to be there to help you out tomorrow.
  15. Hey everyone! I just wanted to put up a quick post about my progress since the sleeve. Today marks 2 months since I went under the knife in Seattle and I can now say that it's quite possibly the best thing that I have ever done for myself. This morning, I jumped on the scale and I weighed 165.4! That means that since my sleeve, I've lost a grand total of 44.6 pounds and my BMI is 30.3. A few things that have changed for me since the sleeve: 1. Shopping is fun again! I don't have to skulk off to the plus size section and flick through the mumus with an ashamed look on my face. 2. When I notice men looking at me, my mind doesn't flash "stoplookingatmyfatstoplookingatmyfatstoplookingatmyfat!" 3. I can run! It might be only a mile or two, but I CAN DO IT! 4. Last night, I just saw my best friend whom I haven't seen since before the surgery. He picked me up and swung me around laughing saying, "bitties! What happened to you! You look SO amazing!!" He didn't stop talking about it all night long. I'm not ready to put before and after pics up yet, but I promise that I will eventually. To everyone who's trolling these boards trying to decide if you're ready to have the surgery or not, just take the plunge and do it. You won't regret it.

6 weeks and really feeling better

Congratulations on the 50 pounds!! Sounds like you're doing awesome.
  17. I just wanted to thank everyone who has been posting on here about stalls lately. I was a bundle of nerves and negativity for over a week, so I followed a lot of advice from here and from my docs office. (one of the nurses there said her longest stall was 4 weeks!) For those of you still in a stall, I thought I'd compile a few of what I felt were the most helpful tips. 1. Increase your Protein intake. Drink another half shake or whatever it takes to get you up to the level your doc wants you at. 2. Read this article: http://www.dsfacts.c...or-plateau.html It has been posted a few times on this forum, and was shared with me by Nancy Rivers. 3. Get moving! After surgery it's normal to feel sluggish and tired, but its important to keep your metabolism and your heart rate up. 4. Put away the scale! Your body goes through natural fluctuations every day for all different kinds of reasons. It's really difficult to break the habit of weighing every day, so wean yourself off. Go every other day, then step it back to once a week or every other week. 5. Drink some water! Water is essential in so many of the biological processes that happen in your body. If you don't drink enough, you'll find very quickly that you feel tired, nauseous, and you might notice the scale staying the same. A quick way to assess whether you're getting enough? Check your urine. If it's getting progressively darker, you need more water. 6. Trust your medical team, trust your sleeve and trust yourself. The sleeve will work if you let it. You have the capacity to make it work for you and to do all the wonderful things that you have been planning with your new life. So put a smile on, go for a walk, and enjoy life! I really hope that these things will help someone still stuck in a stall. Comment if you have anything else to add to the list!
  18. Every Tuesday I go to P.F. Changs Happy Hour to get steamed dumplings. (I peel off the wrapper) The bartender there is absolutely adorable. Usually it's pretty busy but today it was absolutely dead. We were discussing the fact that I work for a major diet company as a weight loss consultant (ultimate irony, I know) He then told me that he thinks that I am a great role model for my clients. He said he thinks I have a perfect body and that I'm so beautiful and blah blah blah. I don't care if he was just saying that to get a tip I was skipping all over the place. So happy!!
  19. The sleeve is treating me so well! Sometimes it doesn't like what I eat, but I'm learning to adjust lol.

  20. Eco drink from Costco!! Absolutely saved my life!!!!

    Protein bars?

I love Nugo bars from Costco. 11 grams of protein and they're certified low glycemic. Another side note, for people who can't stand liquid vitamins, try Eco Drink. It's delicious, has tons of electrolytes and 0 sugar, calories, carbs.
