Hello everyone,

My name is Mariela but most people call me chiquita, I am a 23 year old women that lives in San Diego CA. I have pretty much the same story that any overweight person has...I've been struggling with my weight since I was a young girl and I have been on every diet under the moon. I am sick and tired of being uncomfortable in my own skin and I want to live the life that I have always wanted to live, I want to be the person I have always wanted to be... Now I am not only living my life for myself, I have a 16 month old daughter named Kamila and I want to be a good example and an active happy mother for her. I am married to a wonderful, supportive man that deserves a confident and happy wife.

I am begining my journey to get VSG and hope that everything works out in my favor. My insurance is Aetna and it is not active until 11/1/2010. I plan on going in ASAP and getting the ball rolling. I look forward to sharing my journey with you guys as you have unknowingly done with me. I am so grateful for this website and am grateful to be a part of the community.
