  1. I was diagnosed with PCOS in July of 2006. I got married in March of 2008 and immediately started trying for children. No such luck. Then came the Metformin and later the fertility drugs and about 40 pounds, much to my dismay. I was sleeved on December 2, 2010. I lost 15 pounds on the pre-op diet, and then I lost about 19 more post-op. I've been stuck at that exact weight for almost 2 weeks, and I feel like a TOTAL failure. It's soooooo disheartening, and I feel myself slipping into a big bad funk. I will go back to work on Monday (post holidays, as I'm a teacher), so I'm hoping that will help kick-start the process again. (I plan to take my sneakers and walk during lunch.) I'm just wondering if anyone else with PCOS is having/has had the same problem? Is it harder to lose weight after sleeve with PCOS? I know it's harder BEFORE sleeve for sure! Advice? I'm hangin' by a thread and an angel's breath away from panic!!

    weight loss after vsg

The same thing happened to me. I panicked! In fact, I'm stalled-out again at 6 months, but I have lost 70 pounds, so I'm not terribly disappointed. I'm upping my exercise and upping the Protein and hoping for the best! Good luck!!

    one week post op

I too experience the hunger, and it really surprises me as well. Liquids do help a lot with that.. Hang in there, and best of luck on your journey!
  4. wishin' the weather was better so I could go out and walk.

    Protein shake alternative

If you live where you can get Mootopia millk (HEB in Texas carries it), it's lactose free, fat free, has way less sugar, 12 g of protein, and tastes like milk! I use that with the high protein slim fast and the Carnation instant breakfast to boost the protein. Yum!

Here's to an awesome NEW YEAR!

    here, here!! : )
  7. is kicking up the workouts....and is SORE!! : )

  8. I too live in a small town (way) south of Dallas, and I also went through the vsg approval process with BCBS. Once the hospital FINALLY decided to send the info to them, it took like three days for approval! I was finally sleeved on December 2nd. I hope you are as fortunate as I was in the approval process! I too know people that the band hasn't worked for, but they're not pursuing revisions as of yet. My pcp told me flat out that the band doesn't work, so that was never an option for me. I have a lot more to lose than you do though. Good luck!!

    Afraid I wont make it

I completely understand. I too am stalled-out in the loss department. Of course Christmas vacation isn't the ideal time to be "dieting". I desperately need to amp up my exercise, and maybe going back to work will help the worry wart in me. I am in the biggest funk right now because I keep telling myself that I'm the one who's going to not be successful with this because of this seemingly endless plateau. The "negative thoughts lead to negative outcomes" comment really helped. : ) I need to work on that.

    Weight loss stopped

I'm so glad to know that I'm not the only one who has stalled-out. It's so discouraging, and I'm becoming more and more depressed about it. It may be normal, but I still can't get that to compute in my brain. My husband says I'm getting smaller, but I want to see it on the scale too, darn it! I stalled-out at 34 pounds a little over a week ago. I'm hoping that once I go back to work after the holidays, I'll be more active, and the losing will jump-start itself again.
  11. I agree with finding a new doc who will fulfill YOUR wishes. My surgeon and his nurse both said that they wish more people would get the sleeve done because it's so good. I agree!

TOP 10 LIST: Things I'm Looking Forward to as the Fat Fades

I loved reading all of your lists, and can identify with every single item on all of them! I just wish I'd get past this stupid plateau that I'm stuck on. Being almost 4 weeks out and stuck is not encouraging. : ( Good luck, and I hope you accomplish everything on your list!!
  13. I am DETERMINED to end this darn plateau!

    Starting Week 9

I'm almost 4 weeks post-op, and smack in the middle of a 2-week plateau. I too lost 15 on the pre-op diet, and now love ice cold water! I hate that I've stalled, but it's so comforting to know that I'm not the only one and that it will happen. Even though I'm very disheartened now, I'm going to try like heck to get the losing kick-started again!
  15. worried about week 3 post-op plateau...
