  1. I'm post menopause. March 2010 was my last period. But a few days after surgery I started spotting. Then it got to where it was a light period. It just stoped a few days ago. And I"m 3 weeks out. I asked my doc about it last week when I went in for my check up and they said that for a 2 month period after surgery it is common. If it continues after 2 months to see my GYN. The surgery does throw our bodies and hormones for a loop. Never thought about losing the weight causing it. Good luck, hopfully it will stop soon. Oh and I"m only 46 yrs old.
  2. Congrats that is awesome. You dance all you want.
  3. I'm Texasmom65 on there. I sent you all invites.
  4. You don't even look like the same person. Amazing.
  5. You look amazing. Now tell me.....did you do toning exercises in your arms?
  6. I know the feeling, although my husband is super bad. He knows he needs to lose about 50 lbs. And he does get some exercise. He plays hockey once a week. And he will go on my bike rides with me sometimes too. If I ask him to walk with me, he will do that too.....just to have our alone time. But he loves fast foods. I use to not cook alot, because we ate out most of the time....BEFORE I joined WW in March. I then started cooking more. Sure we ate out about twice a week, but not 5 or 6 times. It was a slow process. Find some simple healthy recipes that are along the lines of things he enjoys and start cooking more. Even if its just dinner he eats right and still eats out at lunch...its a start. Or you can suggest he takes leftovers for lunch a few days a week if he liked the dinner. My husband loves Mexican foods, so I tend to do more recipes like that. Not all...but most. Try www.skinnytaste.com she has some great slow cooker recipes. The Carnitas are wonderful. My husband and son eat them like brisket taco's. And love to take for lunch the next day. My son is 7 and would take to school, thought it was special. I would take a flour tortilla (low carb) place a piece of butterkause cheese on it then the meat....they loved it. Of course now I just eat some of the meat, not tortilla for me. I would also cook a veggie or make a salad to go with it. Both my son and hubby likes salad, so thats a good thing. If its Italian he likes, try some of the meatball recipes. You can eat yours on veggies and let him eat his on low carb Pasta. No garlic bread if you can get away from it. The point is, not to let him know its healthy.....just that you are making changes and want to try new foods. If its steak he loves....great, do that and salad and a good veggie. Or cauliflower mashed taters....LOL with cheese. My husband loves the leftovers, everyone at work envys him and his steak. Now he does eat out at work still, but its not 5 days a week like he use too. He is slowly coming down in weight and now that he sees it...he likes it. But I don't make a big deal about it. Its a slow process. Good Luck.
  7. I agree with all the above. July 7th was our 4th anniversary. I had my surgery on the 11th. So since I was on my pre op diet and all the extra money had went to the hospital, we just got each other cards. But my husband gave me a special gift. A spending spree for some new clothes at the store of my choice ( No Lane Bryant) in a few months. His hope is by then money will be better....but its the thought that counts. NOw I know your rolls are reverse, but you could tell her that next year, you two will have an extra special vacation.....go pick up travel brochures to some cool places, like Canada, Ireland, Paris.....just a huge variety and let her choose one. Then you both will have a goal to save up for your "Super Skinny vacation"....with the New Sexy You. Maybe toss in a nice piece of lingerie for her.....and a much smaller pair of sexy boxers for you to wear next year. A goal for you to get into. Good LUck
  8. Your not even a week out. How you feel is normal. I will be 3 weeks out tomorrow and I still get tired easily. I feel a nap coming on soon....LOL The pains are normal too. It could be from gas or your incisions. Take the pain meds that will help you sleep. Take it easy and take care of yourself.
  9. Thank you so much. I've been looking for something like this.
  10. Ouch.....I so wanted to do that yesterday after my bike ride, but I didn't. So glad, I don't like vomiting. Glad you got moved in and feeling well.
  11. Hope today was better for you. Just take it slow and sip your Water and Protein shakes for a few more days. I wouldn't worry about the Vitamin right now. Maybe try it again next week. I still have not found one that doesn't make me vomit. So my NUT said to wait a few more days and try a different one. Just take it slow and take care of your new tiny tummy. Hugs to you.
  12. I just started eating soft foods, and my NUT suggested that you take a small bite and put your fork down and sing Twinkle Twinkle little star in your head....then take another bite. It gives time for the food in your tummy to signal to your brain its getting full. Overwise its too late and it hurts. I have not made myself miserable yet, but I can certainly tell, that maybe I shouldn't have taken that last bite. Good Luck. This is going to be hard. Because I'm just like you. It looks good, taste good and you just want to take big bites like you use too. But we have this new tool that will not let us do that anymore... THANK GOODNESS!!
  13. The hunger pain feeling and sounds in my new stomach were acid related. Once I started taking my pepcid it stopped. Now if you are having sounds in your intestines that is probably gas. That is good...keep it moving.
  14. Has anyone tried this from Celebrate Vitamins? You get it all in one packet to drink. Your multi and Calcium. Only have to drink 2 per day. For a 30 day supply its $44.95 They sent me a sample, have not tried it yet. This would be perfect instead of taking so many pills every day. They also make one with added Protein. Taking your calcium and Vitamin at the same time has been a no no....but you would think they know this...so maybe they figure it out. What is your thoughts on this? ENS Multivitamin & Calcium Drink Mix (Wild Cherry) 30 Day supply Created for surgical weight loss patients, our Celebrate ENS (Essential Nutrient System) provides a full compliment of vitamins and minerals, plus 500 mg of calcium citrate in each stick pack. Our integrated formula provides maximum solubility and ensures that the vitamins and minerals are readily bioavailable. This product is the best option for patients immediately following surgery.
  15. Congrats on your one year. You look amazing.
  16. Thanks for sharing your story Lil. Congrats on your weight loss so far. You can do this. You sound like you have turned your life around and seem like a strong woman. We are all here to support you along your new journey.
  17. That is great. I wonder if one of my docs I work for will do that....LOL probably not. I don't see them all that often since I work from home. So I only see them once every couple of months or so.
  18. I bought the Celebrate ones also and I vomit. can't take them anymore. My nut suggested Flintstone chewables. I guess I'll try that this weekend. Would love a small vitamin pill to swallow.
  19. You should call your doctor if you start to feel worse. A friend of mine had lap band done a week before I had my surgery and she was feeling bad and said it hurt to take a deep breath. Finally her doc told her to go to the ER. She had blood clots in her lungs. She is out of the hospital and fine now. And I'm not trying to scare you, but just want you to know, its still possible for blood clots. Hope you feel better soon and its nothing.
  20. I'm not gluten free, but check out this webiste. My grandchildren have Celiac disease and my daughter created this blog with tons of info and recipes. She has been on a radio show and also asked to speak at two different hospitals for celiac groups. http://www.glutenfreefoodstorage.net/
  21. Japan, that is where my son in law wants to go next, but my daughter doesn't....LOL Right now they are in Jacksonville Florida on the Naval Base. We did get to visit them in June, just went to Fla. for our vacation....LOL Must be strange having a new "kid" in the house, especially one that isn't your own. Maybe she can join her husband soon in Japan.
  22. I bought the GE brand one that Walmart has for $20. It works great. Comes with 5 large cups and one small that you can drink out of too. Its fast, easy and very affordable. I show it on one of my Post Op Vlogs. Click my youtube link in my signature and you can see it. Its the Gastric Sleeve Post op day 11 video.
