  1. How far out are you from your surgery? If the pain has not went away, please call your doctor. As far as the bump feeling under the incision that is normal and will go away over time. I have the same thing and had it when I had my gallbladder out.
  2. Wow Nancy you are doing great. I had my appt yesterday. Sounds like you found a great new PCP too.
  3. Mine also said 60 gms per day.
  4. That is wonderful news Jim. And Welcome to the board. I bet your sons are very proud of you. I know how it is when your children are gone, you really do miss them. Although my daughter is not in the service her husband is in the Navy and they are not stationed anywhere close. So she has been gone from home for over 4 years. Good LUck on your journey.
  5. This is not easy!! and Forever you will have to watch what you eat and the amounts. RUDE woman!!
  6. I slept in my bed. The recliner was ok, but it wasn't easy getting out of it either for me. The bed felt better, plus I used an extra pillow for support on my side. I would turn a little bit on my right side and put the pillow underneath my tummy, so there wouldn't be any tugging or pulling. Heck at first I stole hubby's pillow too and when laying flat had pillows on both sides. LOL
  7. Can't wait to hear the good news on your WL. The drain was not painful for me, but they removed it before I left the hospital.
  8. Welcome and I agree this is a great site. I joined the "other" site a couple of weeks ago, but find it unorganized. I like this site so much better. Good luck on your journey and we will be here waiting to hear "The End" in the many months to come. LOL
  9. Congrats on your new "Sleeve". Wow out patient surgery. You are doing well. Just take it easy, use the pain meds and sip sip sip.
  10. I'm just east of Dallas in the Rockwall area.
  11. Congrats and welcome.
  12. My soups/broths are usually 6-8 oz. I may take me an hour to finish them, but that is what I drink. Same with my Protein drinks. Then the rest of the day I drink Water. You probably will not fill that restriction yet, I know I don't since its just liquid. Now I do feel it I drink to much at once or to close together. But only for a moment, then its gone.
  13. Congrats. You will love your sleeve.
  14. I know what you mean. My taste buds have changed too. I use to add things to my Water, now I can't stand it. Plain water taste best to me. Crystal light or even Stevia flavors are way to sweet for me. I guess we will see how the next few months will change...or will they?
  15. You could be releasing alot of extra fluid still from your surgery. Now the feeling that your never done...could mean you might have a UTI. So you might want to call your doc about that and have it tested before it gets worse. Having the catherter in so long could cause that.
  16. I'm so happy for you Jack. Keep us posted on your progress. And btw Happy Birthday! LOL
  17. That is awesome. Congrats.
  18. Thank you so much everyone. It's so exciting to see that my weight now begins with a "1". When I was changing my ticker this morning, I automatically put a 2. Silly me. No more....I hope I will never ever be over 200 again as long as I live.
  19. I did it ! I'm finally under 200 lbs. This morning I weighed 199.8 ! Woo Hoo for me. I have not been under 200 in over 10 years. I LOVE MY SLEEVE! :cheer2: Now off to work I go, to spread the good news. LOL I'm so lucky to have a group of ladies at work that have supported me. And I had to take a picture of it on the scale and send it to my daughter and husband this morning. LOL I'm lovin this day.
  20. Wow, thanks for sharing, she has some great recipes. I can't wait to start trying them.
  21. Thank you for sharing. Now if I can just get to solid foods I'll feel much better. And 2 years out....I know I have a chance to eat kinda normal again. Your the best Tiffykins.
  22. great article. Thanks for sharing.
  23. Wow you look amazing. Keep up the good work....don't let old habits back in your life yet.....reach that goal. You can do it.
  24. Don't worry about the 30 min rule while you are on liquids. Just drink Water and your Protein shakes all through out the day. You want to make sure you stay hydrated. I use Premier Protein I got at costco, You can get at Sam's as well and order online at other places. It is 11 oz. and has 30 grm of protein. You would only have to drink 3 per day to get in your protein. Things will get better. Hang in there.
