SageTracey got a reaction from Lady VS in Has anyone flipped their port?
It sounds as though you strained the muscles around your port but I am only a stranger from the other side of the world on the internet reading your post. I am not a dr. If I was you, I would prefer to get the diagnosis of my dr.
I hope it is nothing serious and that your dr can provide you with some quick reassurance.

Excess skin won't kill me, carrying all that excess weight would have. I'd rather than be alive in a loose coat than dead in a well fitted (over stretched) one!

SageTracey got a reaction from DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in Questions for the "regulars" on here....Mis73, chez or any others?
I don't feel my band but I do feel my port.
In terms of how the band feels when eating, I definitely feel satisfied on smaller portions and know that if I were to push past those smaller portion sizes, then I would feel horribly stuffed and unwell. The band doesn't stop me eating more but it allows me to be satisfied on less, for longer. Listening to my band is one of the most difficult lessons I have had to learn.
It doesn't snap shut and say "No more!" when I have had my small portion. But it does give me a soft stop, like a hiccup, small sigh or burp, that tells me to listen up or pay the price.
    Good luck.

SageTracey got a reaction from DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in Anyone reach their goal? but the doctor said...
I've lost about 75% of my excess weight, maybe a bit more. My surgeon commented at my last appointment that he would be happy if I stayed at this weight for the rest of my life. At the time, I agreed, but now I really do want to get closer to losing 90% of my excess weight as that should take me down to a size 12 easily. It will also make my sporting life that bit more comfortable.

i am kinda on the short side......and 8 months ago, i was about as wide as tall..my stomach played a major part and stuck out alot....take a gander at my profile pic in green if you dont believe me..
anyhow, i noticed today while moving the wet clothes to the dryer that i could stand on my tippy toes and reach nearly all the way into the washer to get the clothes out...where as before, i couldnt reach more than half way and more than a few times had to get the ole man to help...now that was a wonderful moment for me and even teared up a bit at just how far i have come since june 6
now i know what your thinking, kinda silly
yeah i know but when you notice your stomach doesnt hinder you as it once did, its pretty big (pardon that expression)....(IE: seat belts, crossing my knee over my legs, seat in car, clothes) you get excited.
thought i'd share another silly success

SageTracey reacted to Redesigned_Curves in I just don't get it!
"Muscle does not weigh more than fat, any more than lead weighs more than feathers. A pound is a pound is a pound. Where the misunderstanding often comes in is that muscle is much more dense than fat, so that, by volume, it seems to weigh more. That is, a pound of muscle occupies less space than a pound of fat. In addition, because a pound of muscle burns more fat than a pound of fat, even at rest, by increasing your lean muscle tissue mass, you're helping your body burn more calories.
If you only have a small amount of weight to lose, then you may feel like the weight training is not helping you move down on the scale. In fact, the number may even go up, but you will look thinner. This is due to an increase in lean body mass (muscle, bone, blood volume) and a decrease in body fat. In other words, even if the scale doesn't change much, you will probably see a difference in how your clothes fit."

SageTracey got a reaction from Jackie07 in Emotional eating
Emotional eating is such a challenge! I had a mammogram this morning followed by ultrasounds based on the results of the mammogram - except the radiographer wasn't allowed to tell me any results, just that the reviewing doc thought I should have ultrasounds straight away! Way to send my emotions off track!
I'm supposed to be working this afternoon but if I go into the office I won't concentrate and I will be seriously tempted by the choccy box. So I've stayed home where my husband did the shopping yesterday and just eating fresh fruits.
    (Results tomorrow. Fingers crossed.)

SageTracey got a reaction from Tina Ramirez in pre workout supplements?
First up, check with your dr.
Secondly - count any calories that any supplements have
Thirdly - personally, I don't take any supplements pre-workout other than my normal daily Multi-Vitamin.< /p>
If it is a hot day or I am exercise particularly hard and long, I will add Gatorade powder to my Water to maintain the right balances.

SageTracey got a reaction from ☠carolinagirl☠ in who here has been banded for at least 2 years and has had NO complications?
I'm coming up two years and have had no issues with my band either. I guess it is just more common for people to post when they do have issues and are looking for input from others in a similar position than it is for those of us who are not having problems to post.

Plus it is only your first fill so you are unlikely to experience restriction just yet. It usually takes a number of fills.
But you are on your way!

SageTracey got a reaction from ☠carolinagirl☠ in ? for those who dine as part of business in the post op stage
Have a quiet word with the person in charge of catering. You have special dietary requirements and you are entitled to make a private request for them to be catered for.
I have a Lions Club meeting every two weeks and as I no longer eat red meat, I have a chicken meal. A small number of us have a special meal like this and it is no big deal.
I also dine out regularly for business, have done from the beginning of my band journey, and have learned to speak up quietly.
    Good luck.

SageTracey got a reaction from DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in im getting banded on Monday Feb 25, 2013
Not too much at the beginning. Not wanting to put a downer on you, just trying to help you stay realistic. Once you recover from the swelling, gas etc of the surgery, you will probably feel as though you can still eat anything and as much of it as before. That's because most of us need several fills before we start to feel restriction. Just be sure to follow your dr's orders, ask lots of questions (of your dr and on here). And have patience because this is a lifestyle change, not a quick fix.
    Best of luck.

SageTracey got a reaction from 2muchfun in Tight or eating too fast?
Being too tight means that you are not in the green zone. You have passed through it into the dangerous red zone.
However, your post title suggests that you think you may be eating too fast so concentrate on slowing down considerably and see if this makes a difference.
If not, then get yourself off to your dr for a consultation and probably a slight unfill.
Being in the green zone means that you can eat, albeit slowly, and not vomit or PB. And you will be satisfied on a small amount of food for a longer period of time.
