  1. I have been contemplating the lap band for four years - went to multiple information meetings and then thought I should be more disciplined and lose the weight myself. Way easier said than done. The older I get - the harder it is! I finally contacted a weight loss surgeon's office and gave them my insurance information. I do have coverage but there is a $10,000 cap, so I need to find information on how much out-of-pocket I am going to have to pay if I get approved for the surgery. I do have to do a 6-month supervised diet and psych eval. Basically I stumbled upon this discussion forum and after reading a few posts and was very impressed with how polite and helpful everyone is. Any information is appreciated and I look forward to being a member.
