    Stalking the forums

Wow. I remember my post like yours almost three years ago. More than two years out from surgery and 17 months at goal weight of 21.8 BMI, I am happy with my choice. Best wishes on your journey! Lynda
  2. Me too. I also like zucchini done this way too . I cut it into thick planks and super hot pan so it's browns outside and softens inside. If its not hot and I have more time, I do all the veggies in the oven like butter. Lynda
  3. You do look great! Congrats on size 12! Lynda

2 year post-op bone density scan results

Yes, that's right. Doctor said to add weights to my exercise routine and double the amount of calcium I'm taking if it doesn't upset my stomach. Lynda

how many oz of cooked fish can you eat post op?

I can eat a little more than 3 oz of fish, but I usually stop at three so I have room for a little starch and veggie with lunch or dinner. Now that I'm further out, I do enjoy soup. I just make sure I eat enough Protein in it. Lynda
  6. Hi all, Only a few things taste different for me. Only artificial sweetener I can tolerate is Splenda. Whatever is in sugar free pudding didn't used to bother me but now I can taste it big time. Someone recommended using sugar free pudding mix with the greek yogurt. Yuck! And I'm losing my taste for Spaghetti Sauce because it gives me heartburn. Also less prone to go nuts on sweets or fats for more than one day running because I feel crappy the next day (not to mention the weight gain!). Lynda

Teeth correction needed as a VSG vet?

Fiddleman, The dentist can make spacers that you wear to prevent teeth from shifting until you do get implants or a bridge. Lynda

    Gratuitous ONEDERLAND Post!

Welcome to onderland! And those that aren't noticing yet? Hold on to your soon-to-be too big size 14s cuz the next thing you will hear them say is "you're too skinny- you better not lose any more weight" Congrats! Lynda

    Non believers

Hah. Finally got a laugh out of this thread. Count me in the nonbeliever group. But unless someone is discriminating against me for it ( Hello Overeaters Anonymous and the Boy Scouts!!) I don't say much about it. Lynda

    Primal Cookies - Caveman Cookies!

I can't make stuff like this because I will eat the whole batch. It's the same reason you will not see protein bars in my house. Or white cake. Actually I do have a couple of cupcakes I brought home for hubby and I swear they are starting to talk to me. I am eating yogurt with blueberries and telling them to shut up! Yesterday, I ate three of them at the ice cream social I went to. That is enough for a few days!!
  11. I counted my Protein drinks in my Fluid intake. That is how my program calculates fluid intake. We can count anything except caffeinated drinks. Lynda
  12. Sorry I don't have other suggestions. Let us know the results of blood draw. I'm guessing low protein may be the culprit, but I'm no doctor. I can't tell your age from your pic, but my hair started thinning in my 40s. I guess a pre-menopause thing.

    reaching weightloss goals

Congrats! I had mini goals that included each new digit on the way down so 16, 15, etc. and also percentage of body weight lost. 10%, 20% etc. Here's a calculator for that: http://www.fitwatch.com/qkcalc/calculate-weight-loss-percentage.html I've been at goal with a 46.85% loss of my body weight for 17 months. And my weight begins with 13! Lynda
  14. If you goal is 64 oz and you drink every hour you are awake, you will be close. 16 hours x 4 oz. is 64 oz. That's the goal I stuck with till I could drink more. If you can drink more, there should be no problem with 2 oz per 15 minutes. Lynda
  15. I didn't have that issue. Are you taking your Vitamins and getting enough Protein? Did your program include bloodwork to check your vitamins and protein levels at one year post-op? Lynda

    Daily meds after surgery

You really need to discuss with your bariatric surgeon. He or she should be familiar with issues around time release meds postoperative and be the one to decide when you can begin swallowing pills. My program had me taking all pills except Calcium one day postoperative. Lynda
