  1. Hi Sara, I started the process last July. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama requires at least six months of supervised weight loss attempts, including 7 visits with a registered dietitian at monthly intervals, visits with your personal doctor (before, middle, and after the6 month period), and a multitude of tests. My surgeon required that I lose 35 lbs before the surgery. I finally got through all the hoops and was banded on 5/11/11. Doing well so far.
  2. Congrats Dave, I got banded by Dr. K. Todd Foreman on 5/11/11 in Huntsville. Doing well so far. I too have the gas pain you described. I too am (was!) a type II diabetic, 1000 mg of metformin twice a day. I don't need it now! Best wishes for your success.
  3. Hello all, I was banded on 5/11/11 by Dr. K. Todd Foreman in Hunstville, AL. Doing well so far, just the usual gas pain. Best wishes to all of you.
