What's harder and/or more valuable? To sit with the grieving in their grief? Or to try to fix it?

2 weeks post op!! 5 days ago I wouldn't have believed I could feel so good!

I have started walking more and much faster, doing squats, and lifting light weights. I have started wearing my work clothes to prepare going back tomorrow. I get tired if I over do, but I am sleeping great and therefore I feel great in the morning (so then I over do lol). My family and friends are so supportive and my daughter is adapting well too!
I couldn't have done it w/out the support from here and the friendships I have made!

Holy cow - now less than my drivers license - finally under 250. I haven't weighed this amount since I was 17.

Wasn't surgery supposed to be the hardest thing I did this year?

Ugggghhhhh... my MIL toasted a piece of cinnamon raisin bread for herself for a snack, and it smelled so effing good, I had go to another part of the house. I haven't missed bread a whole lot so far, but tonight I'm sad.

I can only imagine...my surgery is coming up in Oct. and I'm grateful I live alone w/ my daughter lol I have been researching bariatric recipes- 'breads' that are low to no carb, and that be made w/ low sugar or sugar free. it's amazing how no grain products can be so healthy- almond flour is an amazing invention lol
But, I do know what you mean...it is going to be hard!!!! But good for you for staying strong!! We can all do this!!

9 days from my "Surgiversary" (one year) and today I'm at 180, 20 lbs. from goal--and have lost 193 lbs. so far! I'd cry if I weren't smiling so much :-)
-
Stepped on the scale this morning and am down 60 pounds. I've lost over 25% of my total body weight so far.
-
April 5th it was 10 monhts from Sleeve. Down 111 lbs and down to a size 6. But most importantly, I am now a runner and a tennis player, and my first 1/2 marathon is 4/19/2015. I could not be happier!

HI There bormannk- I hope you are doing well!! I just saw my surgeon this week and so far I'm about 90% approved- trying hard to not get too excited though. I'm ok for either procedure so I'm still deciding. I need a scope first to see what level of GERD I already have. Then it's just the last part of the insurance. The office feels I should know my Tues. Praying for a positive outcome! The doctor felt I could realistically get back to my HS weight of 130 since I do workout so much regularly anyway!! Patiently waiting and praying

Great news!! I am going through the process ( for the 3rd time to get approved.) right now. I didn't have the right qualifiers last time but it looks like this time I will! Patiently waiting to hear back as I'm feeling desperate at this point. I have GERD so that may make me ineligible for the sleeve but it's definitely my preference if I had to choose! So awesome to hear of your success!! Way to go!!
