  1. Yes it has been a success. I have my re sleeve done six months ago now. I had 40 pounds to lose and now I only have nine pounds to lose. Because I don't have that much to lose the weight loss is slower than it would have been if I had a lot more to lose. I've had no issues whatsoever.
  2. I had my resleeve done at mexico bariatric center in Tijuana. My cost was right around 5800.00
  3. Yes. I have been. Had mine done in 2010 and was just resleeved 2 weeks ago. I lost 72 lb my first time. I regained 40 lbs. I have now lost 14 pounds in two and a half weeks. Everything is going great so far. I do feel more control this time. I think probably My stomach was left a tiny bit bigger the first time. I'm guessing they had less to work with this time than the first time.
  4. I would love to form an in person Support group. Like maybe get together at a coffee shop Every few weeks or so.
  5. Would like to find a local support group. I live in Burnsville but would love to go to one or start something in the southern suburbs of Minneapolis. Let me know if anyone is out there from my area.
  6. I had my surgery done in Mexico. I agree with tobethin30. It has been a tremdous help, this website and also obesityhelp.com Talking to others about our similar experience is so helpful. While there isn't a forum on obesityhelp.com for us plicationers, there is one for vertical sleevers. Our surgeries are so similar with the same way of eating. (Don't say that on that website though. They tend to get a little uppity about it and insist our surgeries are so different. Even had one act angry with me that I said they were similar. Oh well. You ignore the stupid people. After my surgery in Mexico I didn't feel lost or on my own. I went to a local support group for several months. While nobody had my surgery, we all have the same eating and emotional issues.
  7. Just curious where you read this info?
  8. Sounds like you're doing fantastic. The walk/run thing sounds like it's working for you. Maybe I'll try that.
  9. Just about 20 miles south of the cities.
  10. I would say I definitely had some emotional issues to work through the first couple of months. The fact that I coudn't eat huge amounts anymore was a bigee. But now I wouldn't trade my new thin me for anything. No regrets.
  11. IF I HEAR SOMEONE SAY THAT ONE MORE TIME, I AM GOING TO SCREEEEEEEEEAAAAAAMMMMM!!! Why do these people assume they know what its like to go through 30 years of trying to lose weight., a hundred different ways. Then finally we find something to help us finally lose our weight. The easy way out?!?!?!?!?!? You gotta be kidding me. I've never worked so hard to lose and keep my weight in my life!!!!! Who needs friends like that?? I sure don't.
  12. Had my plication on July 16th of 2010. I've lost 72 lbs with 11 to go. I think I'm stuck here though. Been here for a good 6 months or so. It's ok. I'm a size 12 and was a size 24 before.
  13. I'm 17 months out and it still happens to me too. It happens at church and it is embarrassing.
  14. Slow but sure. Very very slow.
  15. I also had Dr. Lopez Corvala. Everything was wonderful for me. Google his name. You won't find anything negative about him. Others you will.
  16. You are feeling what every one else has felt. You don't know quite what to expect and it makes you scared. That is perfectly normally. This whole thing is a learning experience. Within 1 month of my surgery I was totally sorry I had the surgery. I cried. You can't quit and it is a little frightening. When you realize all the wonderful aspects of losing weight you finally come to accept your decision and are ok with it and eventually very happy you did it. People say they would do it again in a heart beat. You may not say that right away but you will say it eventually. I felt like I was going to fail also. I thought I would be that one person who the surgery wouldn't work on. (I think we all think this.) Well, it has been just over 1 year and I have lost almost all my weight. (68 lbs) with 15 to go. A little slower than most but still coming off. Trust what everyone is saying. We're not getting paid to say all these wonderful things about our surgeries. Lol. We really are so very glad we had this surgery and DEFINITELY would do it again in a heartbeat. Wishing you well, Julie
  17. I lost 1 lb this week. Been waiting for over a month. It's ok. I'm getting used to the idea of not losing any more weight. Maybe it will happen. It really is ok though.
  18. Yes, I can definitely eat a lot more than I could a couple months out. I also feel if I was eating like I am now and didn't have the plication I would be losing faster. Yes, I would definitely consider revising to the sleeve just because I'm not sure if I'm going to have complications down the road because they don't know the long term effects of this surgery. Also, I would like my grehlin removed. I suppose if I don't have complications I won't revise unless I come into some more money where I could afford to have it done. Yes, a size 12 is nice. I guess when you have a number in your hear its hard to be content when you haven't acheived it.
  19. You had your plication removed? What kind of complications were you having?
  20. Now I'm down to 18 lbs left.
  21. It does get discouraging. I've only lost 8 lbs since Christmas. Lost the rest since July surgery of last year. I have 18 lbs to go. I figure I've lost 65, down to a size 12 from a 22. I should be happy but I'm not totally. If I could freeze my weight at this the rest of my life I would be happy. But I sure want to get to 150 and a size 10. Anyone else stop loosing?
  22. Wish I could say with most everyone else that my hunger is gone. I had the plication so my grehlin isn't gone. I guess that makes all the difference. I am hungry at least every 2-3 hours. If I eat the Protein I'm fine. If I eat carbs, hungry much sooner. Its' been just about 12 months for me.
  23. I'm not giving it 110%. Maybe 75%. I eat protein most of the time but still have plenty of carbs. I rarely exercise. I do write my foods down and drink maybe half of my water each day. I complain I'm not losing any more weight. (Maintaining though) I know what I need to do. I guess I'm not willing to give it more. I have 18 lbs to go till my goal. It does get much more difficult the closer to goal I get. Hopefully I can get some motivation from you guys. Please help me!!
  24. I am so sorry for how you feel today. I know exactly how you feel. My family went to Red Lobster when we were on vacation last year only 5 days after my surgery. I sat in the car and ate my soup and felt sorry for myself. I just couldn't watch them eat. Just 2 nights ago they went out for pizza and I stayed home and felt sorry for myself. Most of the time I can go with them and have what I'm suppsed to have but sometimes I have eaten what I should for the day and choose not to go with them. I have cried just like you. Overall, I am so happy I had the surgery and wouldn't trade it for the best food on the planet. When you start seeing the lbs come off it really helps you know that you made the right decision.
