1. Found it! LilMissDiva's Basic Boot Camp info http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/28139-the-basics-boot-camp/ Can't wait to get this thing back on the move. Thanks again Dorrie!
2. Dorrie - Sounds like a great idea!! I've tried to search it and I'm just not doing something right. Would you happen to have a link to where it tells me what to do for the Basic Boot Camp, or should I just message LilMissDiva? Thanks! Robin
3. I'm totally with ya on that need to carb detox, Brandi. I've been contemplating a two week liquid fast like pre-op... I don't know if I really need to go that extreme, but I don't think it would hurt. I just need to get that carb monster outta my head.
4. Hi ladies! I'm right there with you all! My weightloss did great until the boyfriend moved in with me at 5 months out after surgery and while I haven't had a huge gain, I have managed to gain and lose the same 3 lbs for the past 6 months. I'd like to blame it on a stall, but truth is that I've not been doing what I should. I've finally gotten myself back on a decent workout routine and am now in the process of getting back to the VSG basics. Here's to meeting our goals in 2012!! Good luck to you all, I know you can do it! ~Robin
5. Oh, I don't know....I wouldn't be too hard on anyone that asked me such a question, especially since it was one concern that I had myself. People aren't always asking questions to shoot each other down. There are many times they are just curious and possibly are considering the surgery themselves and just want to be well informed. Lets give people the benefit of the doubt before shooting them down.

Day 15 Post Op

Hang in there, Michelle! Maybe it's just this week for all of us...I've been hitting an emotional blue period over the past few days also. Like you I feel blessed to have received this opportunity, and I'm so excited abot my loss so far and the journey yet to come. Maybe its just that we start to think ahead and wonder about changes to come as well as those we are currently going through. This too shall pass Hang in there, Chica....we can do this!! Robin

I CAVED :-(

Aww...don't kick yourself, Samantha. Just think, 'okay, so I had a fall.' Now pick yourself up and keep going on your journey as before. Look at how well you have done so far and all the hardwork you have put in to get where you are. Be proud of yourself and just hang in there. You are doing great!! I think we are all tempted and I think we will all end up caving at one point or another, but the trick is in pulling ourselves back up and keep moving forward. You can do this!! Best of wishes, Robin
15. Loved reading about your trip, Griselda! I'm sorry that you didn't get to stay at the Lucerna, but it sounds like the place you did end up at was just as nice (with the exception of wifi in the room). Can't wait to hear the rest of your journey along the way! Congrats!!

Itchy incisions-Help

It really helped for me to lightly rub some Neosporin cream around them. Not sure if it was the so called "pain relief" that Neosporin claims to have or what, but it sure helped.

FRICK AND FRACK FOOD COMMERCIALS

That is too funny, Amanda. It was the pizza commercials that were getting to me the worst also. My first day back home sitting healing in front of the tv, it seemed like every tv program was talking about burgers and even PIZZA burgers. Luckily I could find humour amongst the torture. I still have head cravings, but they are easier to deal with as I see the pounds fall off.

Day 10 Post Op

Hang in there, Michelle.....you are doing awesome!! I had my vsg on May 10, and my first day back to work was on May 17. I felt pretty good except for a bit of back pain (this was due to my sitting and standing a bit stiffly while I'm healing up), and around 1:30 I would really feel my energy start to drain. By the time I got home at 5:30pm I could have easily crawled into bed and fell asleep for the rest of the night. Every day has gotten better though, and while I still tend to get a lil sleepy earlier than normal, I am making it through my days with no other issues. Best of wishes to you and keeping you in my prayers! Robin
20. It wasn't mentioned, but you can rent refrigerators and microwaves at Lucerna for $5/night. Total lifesaver.

21. Hi Puppylove, I had my surgery with Dr. Kelly on the 10th. Looks like you were scheduled to have yours on my last night in Tijuana (I flew back home Saturday). I look forward to hearing about your stay as well as the rest of your journey!

Pre op diet

Hi Hopefulone! GNC has a Protein powder called Amplified Wheybolic and it has 60 grams of protein pure shake. I was having one between 7:30~8:00am every morning for Breakfast and it would hold me over until around 1pm, then I would have a second shake, which held me over until I could get home and have dinner around 6pm. I'm not on the Clear liquids stage, but I do plan to continue with the GNC Amp Wheybolic drinks once I'm back to full liquids. It's a little pricier and there are not as many survings as others, but to me its well worth it to get so much protein in one shake and to feel so satisfied. I've only tried the chocolate so far. Definitely doesn't taste like chocolate milk to me like Muscle milk does, but its okay and again...well worth it to me. Just a suggestion. Hope it helps.

23. Good luck tomorrow, Michelle. Mine is the 10th, I'll be sending happy thoughts and prayers yer way!

24. Hi Paul, thanx for the add. Gratz on your amazing journey thus far!

Where are my Flirty Thirties?

Hey all. I'll be 39 at the end of June...another Class of '90 big hair gal (though we did get color pictures in our annuals..lol). We didn't even have MTV available at our local station where I'm from, but we did get Night Tracks Friday night videos...anyone remember those? Surgery Date: May 10, 2011
