  1. I love the caramel chocolate crunch atkins bars! They are always my snacks on the go. I usually have half in the morning put in zip lock and half in the afternoon. They taste great and it's not too sweet! I haven't tried any others but I will soon.
  2. I just got this 2 days ago and have done close to 6 songs for the past 2 nights (6 songs each night) I really like it. I also bought the broadway dancing one. (I'm a broadway Showtunes lover!) it was very fun and so far I feel great and really enjoyed it. The first night I danced with my younger brother and the second night I danced with my cousin and best friend. Very great game!
  3. Omg! I so know what you mean. I was 339lbs before surgery now I'm at 271lbs today. All diet no excercise. I am really trying to crack down on this now. I'm 21 and want to change my habits an be healthier all around. So I told my husband ( who has never weighed more than 170 lbs in his life) we need to excercise now! I'll let you know if we stick to it. I hope we do, maybe I just need some motivation. ? Idk, what has worked for you?
  4. Wow I felt the exact same way before my surgery!! I was a full on Coke addict. No diet and no variations just original! I didn't stop drinking it until the day before surgery. I had to have one day cler liquids before surgery and have not touched it since. And let me tell you, since surgery I have not wanted to touch it. I kinda see it like a poison now. Empty calories that will get me no where I would like to be. Thankfully I always felt the same way about alchole so I have no problems sipping my sweet tea and crystal light drinks!
  5. Same here no gas pains. I was only sore in the one spot they held my liver up during surgery but after 2 days that was gone.
  6. Heartburn help needed... I have never in my life had any heartburn issues with food. Now after getting my sleeve surgery I get heartburn after drinking too much water! What is a good medicine that I can take for this? Is this going to e a long term issue? If so, what is a good long term medicine that will work for my sleeve. I am currently on my mushie stage and start soft foods next Monday. Also, how long do I have to wait before lying down? At night I love getting up and having a sip of cold water. How long do I need to wait before lying down again?? I have been lying down fairly early but that is when I get the worst of the heartburn problem. Is this the reason behind the "no lying down after eating rule"?? That is my thoughts but if anyone knows another reason please let me know. I really hate taking big pills are there any other types of heartburn medicines that will work for me? I know this is a lot of questions but I am new to heartburn issues. Thanks
  7. Well I just had my surgery November 29th so I don't consider myself an "experienced sleever" cause my surgery was only 2 weeks and 4 days ago. But I am back at work and started lightly using my excercise bike last night. I stayed on it for about 10 minutes lightly peddling and taking sips of water every so often. I don't think that is really what you meant about working out but it's a start! Lol
  8. I have Mirena and have had it for the past 2 years. I am not sure about the stalling of weight loss because I just had my surgery 2 weeks ago. But I love Mirena!! I hated being on the pill and this is so much easier.
  9. I am 2 weeks and 1 day post op. I am still in the purée stage and wondering when I can start to excercise. I think I might do some light excercise on my excercise bike tonight and have some tuna fish afterwards for protein. My mind wants to excercise because I want this to work for me but my body keeps saying chill out and heal. Idk??
  10. Omg!! I remember that song!! Lol
  11. Exactly! I swear.. My uncle is an ass. He is so judgemental and is like that with one of my cousins too. She is overweight now after her first child and he is always on her case about losing weight. It amazes me that he can be so rude about something so personal. He did have a heart attack in his 40s and he isn't overweight but just because he clogged up his insides with nothing but meat doesn't mean every obese person is a ticking bomb or something. People just need to think before they speak. I'm sure to all my clients I am known as the "big girl" but I wonder what they will call me when I'm small! Lol
  12. I just realized how much peoples opnions have affected me thus far.... For bad and good. I am so aggravated about judgemental people in my life. So, today was my second day back at work. I'm only coming part time because my surgery was November 29, 2010 an it hasn't been 2 weeks yet! Well I'm back and I'm talking to the woman who took my place while I have been out and she said "Everyone has asked where you are!" (God I hope no one told my clients what surgery I had...) Anyways this afternoon one of my customers (a loud, obnoxious woman who is also obese) came in to the store and after saying how nice it is to see me and asking what surgery I had done says "I made your husband mad while you were gone." (my husband and I work for the same company) I asked why and she said " I can never remember your name so when I came in the other day I asked where the big lady was. I spoke to your husband and he told me he didn't appreciate me refferring to you like that and that he was your husband." Then she says, "I told him I was sorry and not to take anything personal because I'm big too!" and laughed. Well he hasn't told me anything about that. He never mentions any negitive things he hears about me if he doesn't agree with it. That is actually one of the reasons I married him! When we first started dating I brought my husband over to my uncles house. It was his first time meeting anyone aside from my mom and little brother. He was so nervous and I really wanted things to go well. Well while we are there my uncle asks my new boyfriend for some help throwing away some old glass peices he was using on an art project he'd been working on. So bf says yes and while they did that I walked around my uncles art studio. When they came in my new boyfriend (of only a few days btw) sat down and wouldn't look at my uncle while he talked. I asked what was wrong and my uncle says," Maddy I'm going to tell you what I told your new boyfriend. You need to lose weight! I told him that if he loves you he will not take you eat out anymore and he will start to excercise with you!" I was so pissed and embaressed at that point I couldn't say anything. Then uncle dearest says, " Yeah, he told me that he doesn't care about your weight . He thinks you are gorgeous and he can't believe how lucky he is that you are interested in him. But I care about your weight and if he loves you he won't hurt you by letting you destroy yourself." Well after that we quickly left and I was silent during the whole car ride. I was extremely embarresed about myself, my family, the retarted situation we just got out of and just stared at my lap. When I finally looked up and out at my window I realized that we were pulling into a Chillis parking lot and he was taking me eat. I asked him why he wanted to go there and he said, " I really don't like your uncle. I think you are perfect and I think after the meeting we just went through we deserve to pig out!" Gosh, I love that man!! Anyways I don't know if this is really a complaint or me just story telling but I guess what I want to say is People really shouldn't judge others they should worry about themselves! Also, I apologize if anything is mispelled. I am typing from my iPhone and these things love to correct any word and put what they think should go there. Thanks for reading.
  13. OMG!! I am so happy that I read this! I started my full liquid diet today and never even thought of fudgesicles!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I'm sending my husband to the store now! LOL Yeah, I don't like jello. I bought some and my hubby has been eating them. I'm glad to be out of the clear liquid stage! Thank You Diva!
  14. WOW! Okay I am totally sold on a slow cooker!! lol I am very excited about learning some recepies now! Thanks
  15. I think it willl be! I am excited about learning. My husband and I hardly ever get a home cooked meal and this year we had a pot-luck Thanksgiving at my older sisters house and I had to bring the utensils! Even my little sister made a cheese/ ground meat chip dip! LOL I think this will be fun and the croc pot sounds like a dream. Thank you for the advice!
  16. I am glad I read this! This afternoon my husband and I went to WalMart and I bought a 7qt crock pot! When I got home I went on WalMart.com and read some reviews on the one that seemed perfect in the store and it was a really a problem starter! So I just returned it for a refund and will do some research before purchasing another. I know that if I start cooking I will want moist food... not anything dry!! lol So I might just get 2 of them or start with a smaller one and practice and then upgrade if needed. Thank you! (The name of the recepie cook you had would be helpful... I might be able to get it on eBay)
  17. Wow! Thank you so much! I spoke to my grandmother and she is all about her crockpot. She said it is so easy to make anything and all you do is stick what you want to eat in there and later it is done. That sounds extremely simple and perfect! I will look that website up now! . Thanks Tiffy!!
  18. Hi Friends, I was sleeved November 29,2010 and am still on my clear liquid phase. I am 20 and have never ever cooked anything other than something out of a box with directions on the back. While I was growing up my mother was always a working woman and I was never taught how to cook anything! I am married and we have been married for over a year now... we have basically been buying really expensive tv dinners and eating out constantly (before my surgery). Now that I am sitting home during my healing process I keep thinking about how wonderful it would be if I knew how to cook! Grilling, Sauting, Roasting, Baking.... everything! I could learn how to cook and make healthy healthy meals for my husband and I. We have no kids and both work full time (at the same company too!) We are together most of the time and usually by the time we leave work we are both tired and do not want to cook. Mc Donalds is just so close and we can smell it walking to the car! Now that I have had my surgery and am really struggling to get in all my liquids (just not hungry) I keep thinking about how fun it would be to prepare food. Maybe it isn't ... I really don't know. But maybe that can be my new thing instead of over eating. I think I will ask him to go buy us a small indoor grill so I can make shrimp and veggie Shesh Kabobs. (Not that I know how to cook that but it would be great. After my healing is done I will be back working full time along side my hubby and we will come home to our 2 children (cat and pet snake); excercise and relax. Sorry for my rambling, I just wanted to fully explain my situation. If you have any quick, great tasting recepies, tips, advice .... PLEASE share it. I am a beginner starting at square 1. Thanks, Madeline
  19. I know how you feel! I am going through the exact same thing. I am scared now... Actually. Hopefully we are just worried for nothing!
  20. Thank you! I will go grab my Popsicles now! I am tired of water and jello! I want something sweet.
  21. Thanks, I was sleeved Monday and today is Friday and I am not taking any more pain or nausea medicine. I didn't take anything yesterday either! I have been sipping, and walking when I can... I'm feeling okay. Just get tired often. I keep thinking about all the healthy foods I will eat when I can have solids. I cant really say that I am hungry; it is probably head hunger but I will feel better when I can eat something to put in my stomach other than liquids. I would love a shrimp shesh ka bob with grilled veggies! I think I might enjoy cooking after this experence. Just rambling on now... Lol
  22. Yeah I loved the video recording too! I was excited about that when my husband told me an it was interesting seeing the inside of myself! I am home now and took my nausea and pain medicine at 8:30am this morning and haven't taken anything since. I have been drinking water and capri suns with reduced sugar. My husband is watching everything I put in my mouth cause he is so worried about a leak. My surgeon said clear liquids for 1 full week post op. No vitamins or protein powder just liquids... Can I have Popsicles?? I started to eat one and my hubby looked so scared! Is that alright to eat it as ice??
  23. No I had to stay at the hospital around 6 hours though. Now I am at the hotel and my doctor visits and checks my vitals. It hasn't been to bad but I do have a pain in my chest... I think it is gas pain. Anyone already sleeved when did you, if ever stop having gas and or nausea pain?
  24. Good luck with everything!! I had my surgery yesterday and didn't have any complications. You will do great. Add me as a friend and we can compare our situations. My only real issue was nausea but after taking nausea medicine things are much better. We are now at a hotel and it's crazy to see my hubby go get his complimentry breakfast and I just don't give a damn!! That part is very exciting!! I haven't cared about eating at all thus far! Whoo hoo! Well I really wish you the best of luck and hope everything goes great!
