This is just the subject i wanted help with. I have a 38-39.9 BMI....i have gone thru everything but the 6 month dietary classes, i have 5 months left till surgery...my question is If i lose 20 lbs before the surgery will they cancel me because my BMI is to low now? I have read so many posts about weight up and weight down but this confuses me. I know it is hard for me to lose even 20 lbs and keep it off, but i want to start getting with the flow now ....thats like a pound a week.....let me know..i'm sure you all have the answers i need.....this is a wonderful site...as soon as i have a question or concern i log on and there is the answer....thanks laura

I am still doing the 6 months of nutrition classes for united.......everyone I met there was so nice...... I felt comfortable with DR Brown.... I'm traveling from Santa fe nm to Denver ........if anyone has info on surgery or post-op with DR Brown please let. me know. And op how did yours go. Thanks Laura

Does anyone else have united buy up plan.......the bariatric center I'm using told me I had been approved by united ......so I drove all the way to Denver yesterday ........and they said the approval was just for the office visit..........I know what I heard when she called me......so now I have to do 6 months of dietary classes, that united requires that....... What has been the experience other people have had? I kind of feel she was deceptive to get me to Denver........... Thanks Laura

I'm so excited....I was approved right away. By united, now I am wondering just how quick things can move along after the approval... Most problems seem to be having to wait forever and jump thru hoops to get the approval..... I thank everyone for taking the time to share their experiences with me......hugs Laura

I'm new to the site..... I still am in the process of reading everything here...... This site has given me sow much strength... My appt with the DR in on wed.... I live in Santa fe and have to go to Denver for my lap band I have been a yo yo dieter all my life. I have the 4 sizes of clothes in the closet.......I promised myself when I start to lose I will throw away all the fat clothes.... My bmi is 39.9 and I have. Spinal cord injury........ That makes walking way harder...... I think the injury and the fact I have had to deal with united for one and a half years they approved me right away.........so wish me luck... When things are so easy you wonder if the other shoe will drop. Lol. Hugs to all. I'm looking to be a part of this new family
